Which is better-to drive on the left or right? Do you think it really doesn't matter? If so, you are wrong. A group of America scientists say cars moving on the right hand side of the road help to make tornadoes(龙卷风). The' Americans say that cars and trucks going very fast each other make the air turn anti-clockwise(逆时针方向)in the northern half of the earth. In the southern half of the earth the air goes clockwise. So in the USA people must drive cars on the left, and in Australia, for example, people must drive on the right!

There are about 2.5 million cars and trucks moving on the roads in the USA at any time. The air that they move is strong enough to change to the movement of the air. Between 1933 and 1973,there were not so many tornadoes because there were less cars and trucks on the roads.

Scientists have found that there are not so many tornadoes on Saturdays. That is because cars on Saturdays are fewer. But tornadoes come mostly on weekdays when there are so many people driving to work

When you travel(旅游) in Hong Kong, you must be careful of the traffic(交通) rules, because the traffic keeps to the left and it’s different from that of the interior(内地) of China. Before crossing the street, you must look to the right and then to the left. If the traffic lights are red, the traffic must stop, people can go across the zebra line.(斑马线) If the traffic lights turn green , the traffic can go, and people mustn’t cross the road.
In the morning and in the evening, when people go to or come from work, the streets are very busy. The traffic is the most dangerous.
When you go somewhere by bus in Hong Kong, you have to be careful, too. Always remember the traffic keeps to the left. Have a look first, or you may go the wrong way.
