Dear Wang Lin, I think it' s not strange for parents to want to keep their children away from anything bad. Foreign parents will do the same as your parents! They may not let their children watch TV for too long a time. they also don' t want their children to play computer games. Talk to your parents and be honest to them, I think. Tell them what you are doing and why you are doing so to make them understand you. It' s never good to do things behind your parents' backs. They aren't fools as you think of them sometimes! Our parents seem to know what is the best for us. Remember: to be honest is the best way. |

Sometimes when we are on the Internet, we forget that we are also dealing with real people. Did you know there is also a polite way to behave on the Internet? It’s called Netiquette. Here are some examples:

In a chat room, it’s polite to say hello to other people when you enter. Before you leave the room, you should say goodbye. If you don’t, people may think you’re rude.
If you make a joke, remember to tell people. You can also typeJ or :p. we can use symbols to express many different emotions. On the Internet, we don’t usually see people’s faces. So, we type things to show our feelings. It’s sometimes important to do so, or other people may misunderstand us.
If you belong to an Internet community, try to follow these simple rules of Netiquette. They help make the Internet a nicer place.

查看习题详情和答案>>computer becomes small and cheap. Thanks to (多亏) the internet, the world becomes smaller and smaller.
A net friend is a man who talks to you online. You first talk to him in a chat room and then begin to know
him well. You never probably (可能) meet them, you have no way of knowing the real world around them.
So you mustn't meet or go out with them.
QQ is a good way to chat and make friends. Now some young people don't often talk with their parents
or teachers, but they talk a lot with the old friends on QQ, but you must be careful about making net friends,
because you don't know the friends are good or bad on QQ.

I think it's not strange for parents to keep their children away from anything bad. Foreign parents will
do the same as your parents! They may not let their children watch TV for a long time, or like your

Talk to your parents and be honest (诚实) to them, I think. Tell them what you are doing and why
you are doing so to make them understand you. It's never good to do things behind your parents' backs.

Good luck!
