I was shopping at my local supermarket, as I normally have for years. One particular day, I had done about 2 weeks worth of shopping and 31 toward the register to pay for what I bought. After the cashier had scanned my items and I had bagged them up, she stated that the 32 was $150.
I 33 into my back right pocket to take the money to pay and noticed that there was no money there. I started to get 34 . I knew my purse was in the car and I was sure I had put the 35 in my back right pocket. I looked at the cashier with wet eyes and a 36 look not knowing what to do. There were people behind me on the line. She told me to speak with the courtesy counter (爱心柜台). I 37 and said, “Really? It's 38 , no one would hand that in!” But she 39 me to. “You never know…” she said.
I decided that there was no 40 in checking so I walked up to a woman behind the counter and said “I have to ask, did anyone 41 cash by any chance?” She asked “How much?” My face then 42 . “$200 in the form of one hundred dollar bills.” I replied. She said, “ 43 , yes, someone did!” I was so 44 ! “Who? I want to thank her.” She pointed to a young girl about 10 years old and said, “She did.”
I walked over to the mom and hugged her. She said, “It wasn't me, it was my 45 ” . I said “I know, I wanted to thank you both, 46 she found it ... it's because of you that I got this back.” I was so happy. I was almost in tears.
The next day at work, a person in another department 47 me tickets to the circus. He handed me 5 tickets. Almost 48 that young girl’s face popped (突然出现) in my head. After work I went back to the supermarket and stopped at the courtesy counter and asked if she had any idea who that woman was. She smiled and said, “Yes, She is a friend of mine”. Then I asked her to do me a favor and pass along these 5 tickets to her.
She told me that the family of the little girl who found my money were not rich so they would really 49 this. She also said that they had 3 children, so five was the 50 number of tickets!

阅读下面短文,掌握其大意,然后从36—55各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
The night started out ordinarily enough. Jack and Tara, our 36 , were in their small beds surrounded by toy animals. My husband, Pat, and I went to sleep 37 .
38 after midnight, Jack quietly touched me. “Mommy, I want to stay with you. I promise I won’t take much room.” I shifted 39 to make room. My son soon fell asleep.
An hour later, Tara cried and I carefully went downstairs. “Mommy, my 40 is all stuffed up(堵住). I can’t really breathe very well. Will you please 41 with me a little while?” Tara doesn’t often get up at night, 42 I decided to be there for her. She soon fell asleep. I returned to my own bed. I was determined to sleep. But to my 43 , I found Jack sleeping on my side of the bed. He looked so 44 that I couldn’t remove him. Quietly and carefully, I lay down between 45 and Jack.
I did manage to get some sleep 46 I heard Tara’s voice again. I returned to 47 Tara. “Mom, please lie down with me a little bit, I had a bad dream, and I’m so 48 .” “Of course, honey. It was only a dream. Mommy’s here and 49 is okay.” We fell asleep 50 each other’s arms.
Even in my sleepy state, I thought of 51 these nights of merry-go-round(一连串的繁忙活动)beds will be over. In their place, my twins will be grown. 52 before I’m ready, our children’ rooms will be much too 53 and empty. So it is especially on days when I’m worn out after a night on this mom’s merry-go-round that I remind 54 that these very days and nights are, in fact. “the good old days”, ever so 55 .

___46___ to the researchers, there is only one chance in a hundred that their findings could be explained by chance alone. 完形填空(共20小题,每小题1.5分, 满分30分)
I’ll never forget May 12, 2008, we were having classes at Beichuan Middle School , Sichuan Province, when a huge 36 hit the area.
At about 2:28 p.m, our 37 , Mr.Wang, was teaching us singing on the fourth floor on the teaching building. 38 we felt the building shaking violently. It was an earthquake! Our building starting to 39 . It was too late to rush out to the 40 . We were told to hide under the desks. 41 later, the whole building fell down. We were 42 in ruins. We couldn’t move at all. No one could really imagine at that split second, how much pain we had 43 or how desperate(绝望的) we felt as we waited to be 44 . I heard Mr. Wang calling our names again and again… .
Hours later, some people came to rescue and 45 of us were saved.
Later, I 46 this huge earthquake scaled 8.0 magnitude. It hit several provinces, including Sichuan, Gansu and Shanxi. So far it has 47 more than 80,000 and injured 360,000. My hometown ----Beichuan was 48 the worst-hit areas. Our school , which was 49 filled with vigor(活力) and laughter, was a dead valley.
Words after such a 50 could appear nothing but empty and pointless. So many people’s lives were taken away, so much 51 was done and the whole city was 52 . Beichuan has become a history.
Now , some of my classmates and I were 53 to study in a middle school in Jiangsu Province. I still 54 dreaming and still strive for a better future: to make our homes beautiful yet 55 .
May victims rest in peace. May survivors live to be stronger.
