It is reported that two 66-year-old men graduated this summer from Sun Yat-sen University, a well-known university in Guangzhou.
Li Yiquan, a Chinese-Singaporean, earned a postgraduate(研究生) degree in software engineering, while Ang Toon Aun, a Chinese-Malaysian, earned a bachelor's degree with a major in Chinese as a foreign language.
Li, a retired engineer, now lives in Hong Kong. His daughter also received a postgraduate degree this year, but from a British university. So she participated in his graduation ceremony in Guangzhou. Li said he had a special feeling for Sun Yat-sen University because his parents and brother graduated from there.
It wasn't easy for Li to return to school while in his 60s, he said. He failed math exams several times after beginning classes, even though he had a good foundation in math; he graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University majoring in physics 40 years ago and worked as an engineer before retiring.
Ang Toon Aun, 66, was tired of his business career, so he decided to study Chinese at the university and passed level 9, the highest level of the Chinese Test.
"There's nothing in the world that makes me happier than study," said Aun. Many old people in Malaysia were encouraged to keep studying after retirement, but few of them chose to study on campus for a degree as he did.

Mr. Rogerson, 51, the father of two girls and two boys, has taught teamowork among his children, with real money. Eight years ago, when they ranged in age from 5 to 13, he and his wife decided to give them $ 5,000 to make investment (投资) each year – for the family’s summer holiday. The more money they made, the more joy they could get on holiday.
In 2001 – a bad year for the stock market (股票市场). “They bought stocks. Their money went down from $ 5,000 to $ 2,000.” Mr. Rogerson said, “We went camping.”
During the second year, “They made $ 50,” he said. “That year we drove down to Florida to visit family.”
By the their year, the children earned $ 600 on their $ 5,000, and the family went to Disney World.
Mr. Rogerson said that the point of the experience – learning to work together to make intelligent decisions about money – is an important one and the effort has helped them discover their own talent. “We found that one boy showed great leadership and the other one was great with numbers,” he said. “Each had a different talent.”

Most people remember their teachers as some kind of despotic（专制的）person although it isn't always the truth. Most of them are quite nice and are always there to give us a hand when we need one. Not so long ago, you might think the teacher was The Teacher and was almighty（万能的）and the students were there to learn and nothing else. Now there is some kind of interactivity（相互活动）between the students and the teacher. To my mind, teachers are here to teach us their knowledge and to listen to what we have to say. Indeed, students aren't afraid to tell them what they think any more. However, this doesn’t mean that they don't control their troops. It is just because times and methods have changed. Our teachers are now closer to their students and have created some kind of soft climate that allows us to be in class without a feeling of obligation（责任）or what so ever. Nevertheless, we can but notice that the "power" is still in the teachers' hands. If something goes wrong it is up to him or her to react properly and to carry out punishment if it is necessary.
