Yao Ming,a boy from China,is becoming excellent in NBA．
Since blasting(闯出)his way into the NBA in October of 2002,Houston’s main Rocket-man, Yao Ming, has been the center of attention among worldwide basketball fans．A mixture of athletic ability and a whole lot of height has made Yao Ming one of the most talked-about players today．
In the NBA, Yao Ming scored an average(平均)of 13.5 points, 8.2 rebounds(篮板球),and 1．74 blocks per game, earning him unanimous(一致通过的)NBA All-Rookie(新手)First Team honors．Yao reached three blocks 26 times, as Houston held a 22-4 record in these contests．He started at center for the Western Conference in the 2003 NBA All-Star Game and was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for December and February．He also received the 2003 Laureus World Newcomer of the Year award and acted in television commercials for Visa, Apple Computer and Gatorade．
He’s now the most popular sports star in the United States and YAO 11 is one of the best sold sport shirts．Now, Yao Ming, David Beckham, Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong are among the athletes selected to Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world．The oriental myth(东方神话)has just begun．
