Dear Wang Lin,
I'm very happy that you are coming to England on a study tour next month. You are welcome to stay
with us-your host family!
Clothes are always very informal (非正式的) here, so bring only T-shirts, sports clothes, sweaters or
anything you like, but don't forget to bring your raincoat-it rains quite often here.
My family will make you a good breakfast and a hot dinner every day. On weekends we should cook
all meals for you. Let us know if you have any favorite meals.
If you have to make a call from my family, I think you will have to pay for it. Also, please ask your
friends and family not to phone you late in the evening.
If you don't feel well, please tell us. We can make an appointment for you. You can visit the doctor
before 10:30 or after 16:30.
I hope you will have a good time here and, of course, learn lots of English!
                                                                                                                                            Cathy

                               Letter 1
Whatever I do, I always think about
if other people will like it. How can I stop
worrying about what they think?
                                          —Eva. New York

              Dr Molly's Answer①
You should tell him about your dream and
that if you work really hard, it might happen even
though you started late. The sooner you tell your
dad how you feel, the sooner you'll be able to
work on making your dream come true.
                  Letter 2
My dream is to be the Olympic team
player for gymnastics (体操). My dad thinks
I started too late and I'll never be able to
make it. He puts me down, but I want his
support(支持). What should I do?
                                          —Erica, 9. London
            Dr Molly's Answer②
Nobody knows you at your new school. You
have nothing to lose, gather up all your courage
and go over to someone who looks friendly and
introduce yourself. You can ask that person about
your new school to break the ice. Good luck!

                      Letter 3
What should I do if I failed a test?
I'm afraid to tell my mom because she
might get mad at me and I can't play soccer.
(1)And soccer is like the world to me.
                              —Ashley, 12 , Washington
           Dr Molly's Answer③
It's better to tell your mom the truth. When
you tell her, explain why you failed the test. A8k
her if she can help you study in the future, so
you'll do better on your tests and also have time
for the soccer you love.
                  Letter 4
I just moved and I'm kind of shy, so
how do I make new friends?
                                             —Jessica,1,Canada
            Dr Molly's Answer④
Just be yourself and try not to care about
what others think. The more you think about it,
the worse you will feel. Always act strong and
confident. Even if you  are a little  unsure  of
something, don't doubt (怀疑) your abilities to
do things right. Just relax.

Dear editor
I'm not a good-looking boy and I'm not good at studying. Some people don' t
even want to talk to me.  So I usually feel lonely.  Sometimes I think that if I want
ed to leave home,  nobody would care. How can I stop feeling like this?
Peter
Dear Peter
Without knowing more about you, it is hard for me to give you some good
advice. But first, I am sure that you are wrong that nobody would care if you left
home.  What about your parents? And other family members?  It seems that you
are very sad. You' d better talk to your parents. They will be able to help you.
Second,  I'm sure there's someone in your class who feels lonely, too.  You never
know how other people feel inside.  Try to make friends with them.  Or you may
join a club to meet new people and to keep yourself busy. You need to find
happiness in yourself. Write a list of all the good things about yourself. Learn to
like yourself, and then others will see your confidence(自信心) and like you,
too.
