Dear Peter
How about your study? It's Sunday today. I'm writing a letter to you. I'm going to tell you something in Beijing.
Beijing is different from London. In our country, we drive on the left side of the road, but here people drive on the right side. Most people go to work by bus or by bike. The rush hours are from seven to nine in the morning and five to seven in the afternoon. People in China work around eight hours a day, five days a week. They usually begin to work at eight in the morning, and rest on Saturday and Sunday.
I have Chinese classes every morning from Monday to Friday. The students in our class are from many countries. We're all working hard and friendly to each other. The Chinese students are ready to help us with our Chinese. We also help them a lot with their English. We are getting along very well.
That's all for today. Please write to me soon.
Yours
Susan

There are many unusual hotels around the world. In Greenland, there is a hotel made out of ice, open between April and December every year. In Turkey, there is a cave hotel with a television, furniture, and a bathroom in each room. And in Bolivia, there is the Salt Palace Hotel.
Thousands of years ago, the area around the Salt Palace Hotel was a large lake. But over time, all the water disappeared. Today, the area has only two small lakes and two salt deserts.
The larger of the two deserts, the Uyuni salt desert, is 12,000 square kilometers. During the day, the desert is bright white because of the salt. There are no roads across the Uyuni desert, so local people must show guests the way to the hotel.
In the early 1990s, a man named Juan Quesada built the hotel. He cut big blocks (块) of salt from the desert and used the blocks to build it. Everything in the hotel is made out of salt: the walls, the roof, the tables, the chairs, the beds, and the hotel’s bar.
The sun heats the walls and roof during the day. At night the desert is very cold, but the rooms stay warm. The hotel has 12 rooms. A single room costs$40 a night, and a double room costs$60.
A sign on the hotel’s wall tells guests, “ Please don’t lick the walls-it doesn’t taste good!”

Helping others is easier than you think. You don’t need to wait to become a rich man like Bill Gates to help poor. You can become a volunteer, you can donate(捐献) your time, you can donate your old clothes and so on. And in doing so, you can become a better and happier person.
Choose some people to support. for example, homeless people, poor children and so on. All of these are suitable(合适的).
Decide what you are able to give. Yes! Sometimes it isn’t only money—you can donate your time as a volunteer, you can donate your knowledge teaching poor children, you can donate your old clothes, you can donate food or you can share a meal with a hungry child.
