Most Americans have three meals in a day like us: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast be-gins between 700 to 800 am, lunch between 1100 am and noon, and dinner between600 and 800 pm. On Sundays, brunchis a combination(结合)of breakfast and lunch, and it always begins at 1100 am. Students often enjoy astudy breakor evening snack around 1000 or 1100 pm.

In the U. S. A., breakfast and lunch are light meals, with only one course(菜). Dinner is the main meal.

For breakfast, some Americans usually eat bread with jam or butter, and drink milk or orange juice. Some like eating fried eggs, fried potatoes and breakfast meat such as sausages. Lunch is more colorful to most Americans. Because the time is too short to go home for lunch. Most people take lunch with them from home, or have it in cafeterias.

Dinner is the most important meal during the day. Americans usually start the meal with soup or drinks and snacks, then have roasted meat or fish with vegetables, sometimes have beef or chicken. and next dessert, followed by coffee. Americans are different from us. They use knives and forks to eat.

These days most people in Britain and the U. S. A. do not wear very formal clothes. But sometimes it is
important to wear the right clothes.
Many British people don't think about clothes very much. They just like to be comfortable. When they
want to enjoy themselves, they can wear almost anything. At theaters, cinemas and concerts you can wear
whatever you like. From beautiful suits and dresses to jeans and sweaters. Anything goes as long as (只要)
you look clean and tidy.
But in Britain and the U. S. A., men in offices usually wear suits and ties, and women wear dresses or
skirts(not trousers). Doctors and business people always wear quite formal clothes. And in some hotels and
restaurants men have to wear ties and women have to wear tidy dresses.
In many ways, Americans are less formal than British people, but they are more careful with their clothes.
At home or on holidays, most Americans wear uniforms or sports clothes. But when they go out in the
evening, they like to look nice. But in good hotels and restaurants, men have to wear jackets and ties, and
women wear pretty clothes.
It's hard to say exactly what people wear in Britain and the U. S. A., because everyone is different. If you
are not sure what to wear, watch first and then do the same. You'll feel more comfortable if you don't look
too different from everyone else.
