When an NBA player is young, he thinks he can win the championship by himself. It is only later 1 he has aged and been through many battles that he learns an important lesson: there is no “I” in “team”.
There is no better example of the value of 2 than the Boston Celtics. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were all superstars on three different teams. 3, none of them had any titles(头衔) to show for it. Then, last season, they decided to play together, caring little 4 money and fame. Garnett and Allen 5 Pierce on the Celtics and changed the NBA in the process.
It started in simple ways. Garnett and Allen are two of the best athletes in the world. They treat every second of every 6 as it is the NBA championship. If you want to play alongside them then you will have to do the same. Therefore, the young guys on the Celtics started giving their 7 effort too.
Pierce had been the star of the Celtics for many years. He used to shoot the ball many times a game. But with the addition of Allen and Garnett he shot less and 8 defense(防卫). His selflessness showed the young players that doing what made the team better was the only thing that 9. When the Celtics were winning and the game was almost 10, Garnett, Pierce and Allen would come out of the game. But they wouldn’t just sit on the bench. 11, they stood and cheered and screamed for their teammates. They wanted to 12 their friends and teammates.
Now, the guys who don’t play know they can still affect the game by cheering, so they scream and cheer when Garnett, Allen and Pierce are playing. The Celtics have 13 a strong relationship. They are 14 just teammates. They are brothers.
The result: the Boston Celtics won the 2008 NBA championship and are considered the favorites to win the Eastern Conference championship again this year. There is a saying that goes, “A successful team beats with one 15.” If that is the case, the Celtics may have the biggest heart in the NBA.

I moved to a new neighborhood two months ago. In the house with a large  21  across the road lived a taxi driver, a single parent with two school-age children. At the end of the day, he would  22  his taxi on the road. I  23  why he did not park it in the garage.
Then one day I learnt that he had another car in his garage. In the afternoon he would come home  24  work, leave his taxi and go out for his  25  affairs in his other car, not in his taxi. I felt it was  26
I was curious to see his personal car but did not make it until I  27  to be outside one evening two weeks  28  ,when the garage door was  29   and he drove out in his “own” car: a Rolls-Royce(劳斯莱斯)! It shook me completely  30  I realized what that meant. You see, he was a taxi driver. But 31   inside, he saw himself as something else: a Rolls-Royce owner and a(n)32  . He drove others in his taxi but himself and his children in his Rolls-Royce. The world looked at his taxi and  33   him a taxi driver. But for him, a taxi was just something he drove for a living. Rolls-Royce was something he drove for a(n)34  .
We go to bed every night and  35   every morning as parents or children, not as bankers, CEOs or professors. We go for a  36   as close friends or go for a vacation as a  37 . We love life as it is. Yet often, we base our entire happiness and success on how high we  38   the social ladder—how much bigger and better a  39 we have. And we ignore our Rolls-Royce, by keeping it dusty in our garage. We should focus more on  40  we are than what we do!
