I always long for romantic moments, like a little girl longing for candies. However, my husband is my complete  36 . His inability to bring romantic moments into our life has made me get tired of our   37 . One day, I finally told him that I wanted a divorce.
“Why?” he asked,   38 .
“I am tired; there are no  39 for everything in the world!” I answered.
He kept  40 , seeming to be in deep thought, with a lighted cigarette in his hands. Finally he asked, “What can I do to change your   41 ?”
Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered, “Let’s say, I want a flower on a mountain cliff and picking the flower will cause your  42 . Will you do it for me?”
He answered, “I will give you my answer tomorrow.”
I   43 the next morning, finding a piece of paper on the dining table, which read: “My dear, I would not pick that flower for you, but please allow me to   44  .
My feeling of disappointment only   45 , but I continued reading:
“You always leave the   46 keys behind, so I have to save my legs to  47 home to open the door for you. You always like to stay indoors and I   48 that you will feel too lonely, so I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories. You always stare   49 the computer and that will do nothing  50 for your eyes, so I have to save my eyes so that when we grow   51 , I can help to clip your nails. Thus, my dear,   52 I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do, I could not pick that flower yet, and die.”
My tears fell on the   53 and I continued reading:
“Now that you have finished reading my answer, if you are   54 , please open the front door for I am standing outside   55 your favorite bread and fresh milk.”
Love, not words, wins arguments.

Our little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was preparing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his mom dried her hands on her apron (围裙) , she read it, and this is what was said:

For going to the store for you $2.

For cutting the grass in the garden $3.

For cleaning up the yard this week $2.5.

For cleaning up my room this week $2.

For setting the table for meals this week $1.

For baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping $1.5.

For getting a good school report $5.

Total owed: $17.

His mother looked at him, who was standing there with expectation. Memories flashed through her mind. Then she picked up a pen, turned over the paper he had written on, and wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me, No Charge(收费) .

For all the nights that I’ve sat up with you and taken care of you, No Charge.

For all the problems and troubles that you’ve caused through the years, there is No Charge.

When you add it all up, the cost of my love is No Charge.

For all the nights that were filled with fear and for the worries I knew were ahead, No Charge. For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping up your nose? There is No Charge. And when you add it all up, the full cost of real love is, No Charge, Son.

What makes a gift special? Is it the price you see on the gift receipt(收据)? Or is it the look on the recipient's face when they receive it that determines the true value? What gift is worth the most?

This Christmas I was debating what to give my father. My dad is a hard person to buy for because he never wants anything. I pulled out my phone to read a text message from my mom saying that we were leaving for Christmas shopping for him when I came across a message on my phone that I had locked. The message was from my father. My eyes fell on a photo of a flower taken in Wyoming, and underneath a poem by William Blake. The flower, a lone dandelion(蒲公英) standing against the bright blue sky, inspired me. My dad had been reciting those words to me since I was a kid. That may even be the reason why I love writing. I decided that those words would be my gift to my father.

I called back. I told my mom to go without me and that l already created my gift. I sent the photo of the cream-colored flower to my computer and typed the poem on top of it.  As I was arranging the details another poem came to mind. The poem was written by Edgar Allan Poe; My dad recited it as much as he did the other. I typed that out as well and searched online for a background to the words of it.  The poem was focused around dreaming, and after searching I found the perfect picture.  The image was painted with blues and greens and purples, twisting together to create the theme and wonder of a dream. As I watched both poems passing through the printer, the white paper coloring with words that shaped my childhood, I felt that this was a gift that my father would truly appreciate.

Christmas soon arrived. The minute I saw the look on my dad's face as he unwrapped those swirling (卷曲的)black letters carefully placed in a cheap frame, I knew I had given the perfect gift.
