²é¿´Ï°ÌâÏêÇéºÍ´ð°¸>>How can we know that the birds we see in the South in the winter are the same ones that come north in the spring? Once John J. Audubon, a bird ¡¡1 (love), wondered about this. Every year he ¡¡2 (watch) a pair of little phoebes nesting in the same place. He decided to put tiny silver bands(¹¿) on¡¡ 3¡¡ legs. The next spring, the birds ¡¡4 the bands came back in the very same place. The phoebe, it was learned, spent winter¡¡ 5 it was warm enough to find food. Today there are hundreds of birdbanders all over America.
The government of the U.S. has a special birdbanding department¡¡ 6 makes all the birdbands. The bands do not hurt the birds, as they are made ¡¡7¡¡ aluminium and are very light. Each band has ¡¡8 special number. On each band are these words: ¡°Inform Fish and Wildlife Service, Washington, D.C¡±.
Anyone who finds a dead bird with a band on its legs ¡¡9 (ask) to send the band to Washington with a note ¡¡10 (tell) where the bird was found. In this way naturalists add to their knowledge of the habits and needs of birds.

Prana, our beautiful dog whose name means ¡°breath of life¡±, isn't with us anymore. But, she brought such joy and love into our lives that we still miss her.
There are so many wonderful stories about the ¡¡36 in this dog, but my ¡¡37¡¡ is this one:
It was an autumn day in Minnesota. But, the¡¡ 38 didn't seem to know the difference between fall and winter. ¡¡39 , we were 40 with a big snow fall 41 which no one was prepared.
We have two apple trees in our backyard. Prana loved apples. When she went outside, she'd take hold of an apple, stick it far back in her 42 , and sneak it into the house to 43 for eating later. The apples had been on the ground and were often muddy so I wasn't always¡¡ 44 that Prana had brought them into the house. ¡¡ 45¡¡ my disapproval, she would turn her head so I wouldn't see her hidden ¡¡46¡¡ .It was our little ¡¡47¡¡ .
On the day that it snowed too early in the season, Prana went outside and I ¡¡48 her from the window. I ¡¡49 that she was madly digging holes and ¡¡50 the apples to the surface so they could be seen ¡¡51 ¡¡the snow. I wondered why she was doing this. She seemed to be completely ¡¡ 52 with some kind of important task to dig up as many apples as possible during her yard time.
When I called her back into the house, she had her ¡¡53 one apple in her mouth. About five minutes later, I looked outside. The yard was completely covered with ¡¡54 . Prana had dug up all those apples for her bird and squirrel friends to eat. She knew that they wouldn't have stored enough food to¡¡ 55 such an early winter!
