Dear Helen,
This has already been a great trip and I haven't even left the airport yet! Even leaving Shanghai was
exciting. We went to Pudong (浦东) International Airport on the new super fast train. It travels at four
hundred and thirty kilometers per hour! Before the train line was built, it took a long time to get to the
airport by taxi or bus.
We have quite a long time to wait here in Hong Kong before we fly to London tomorrow. In the old
Hong Kong airport only had a few small televisions, but the new airport has lots of super sized televisions
showing sport, comedy (喜剧) and music shows. The old airport only had a few shops selling newspapers
and books, but the new airport has shops selling all sorts of different things. The new airport hotel offers
many special service-including a foot massage (按摩) service! Dad said we can go there later to relax
(放松).
There weren't many restaurants in the old airport, but it's hard to decide which restaurant to go to
in the new airport. There are so many different ones with food from all over the world. I left my bag in
a restaurant and I thought I lost it, but it was safe in the lost and found (失物招领处) house.
The airport has a bus that can take you for a quick sightseeing and shopping tour of the city. I hope
you are well!
See you soon!

查看习题详情和答案>>I shook hands with my father in the truck, and for a long time he looked straight ahead and didn’t say a word. But I knew he was going to say a little to me. “I can’t tell ,” he finally said. “I never went to college, andnone of your went to college. I can’t say don’t do this and do that, everything is different. And I don’t know is going to come up. I can’t help much with money, , but I think things will work out. ”
He gave me a new check-book(支票簿). “If you are short of money, a small check. But when you write one, send me a letter and let me how much. There are some things we can always sell.” In four years all the checks I wrote were less than a thousand dollars. My part-time jobs such as to the blind student and sitting with the teachers’ kids filled in the financial gaps.
“You know what you want to be, and they’ll tell you what to take,” my father went on. “When you get a job, be sure it’s honest, and work hard.”
Then my dad reached down beside his seat and brought the old, Bible that he had read so often. He didn’t say read this every morning. He just said, “This can help you if you will let it.”
Did it help? I got through college being a burden on the family. I have been able to make money since.

I was born in the Tronto, Canada. Life looked bright and was filled with hope for my parents and me. My father and mother were married in 1980, and I was born next year.
As I grew into a man, I often looked to my father for advice and support. There were many things about his character that I admired, but like any young boy, I often thought that my father’s ideas were from the past and out of date.
I did well as a student and was the first person in my family to graduate from university. I went on to be a university professor and writer, and most people would say that I have had a very successful life. But I know much of my success is because of the lessons that he passed onto me.
On Father’s Day, I will look in the mirror and smile. My dad gave me many gifts, including my now bald head (秃顶), and the friendly smile that my friends say I have.
Thank you again, dad. I miss you. Happy Father’s Day.
