How's it going? Sorry I haven't emailed for a while, but I had so much to do!

I had told you about my decision to take up a sport. I knew I wasn't fit and I wanted to get some exercise. But that wasn't the only reason that I decided to do a sport. Students who play sports do better at school. 1..                      Exercise also helps learning and memory (记忆).

2. First, I tried soccer. I had played a bit of soccer before and I thought it wouldn't be too bad. I knew I couldn't last for very long without feeling tired. On the first day, I was able to run for the first ten minutes, but then I was so tired that I couldn't even kick the ball!

Then, I tried volleyball. 3.I was able to run for the first twenty minutes and I wasn't the slowest runner in the team! After a few weeks .I could run faster and longer. I was doing better and feeling better.4..              Maybe I'm not a team sport person after all!

Finally, I tried kung fu (功夫). It's a great sport that exercises the body and the mind. You learn to follow instructions carefully and do what you are asked to do. This is the fight sport for me!  5. I feel so confident that l even showed some moves to the class last week! Can you believe it?

My dream home is very big and clean. It is near the . I can watch the sea and volleyball on the beach. My grandparents live us in this big house. room is the first floor(层), too. I always chat with them and help them some housework at weekends. On the floor,there is a kitchen and a dinning room.All the family will have dinner there . My bedroom ,study and bathroom are on the third floor.There is a big balcony(阳台) in my bedroom. I can play games, read books and chat my friends there. Little Tommy was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything—tutors (家庭教师), cards, special learning centers—in short, everything they could think of. Finally they took Tommy to a catholic (天主教的) school.
After the first day, little Tommy came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn’t kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread (铺开) out all over the room and little Tommy was hard at work. His mother was surprised. She called him down to dinner and as soon as he finished eating, he went back to his room, without a word. In no time he was back hitting the books as hard as before. Little Tommy looked at her and shook his head, “No.”
“Well then,” she asked again. “WHAT was it?”
Little Tommy looked at her and said, “Well, on the first day of school, when I saw that man nailed (钉) to the plus sign (加号), I knew they weren’t joking.”
