“How is your daughter now?” I couldn’t wait to ask.

“She has died. You   50    have kissed her on the phone, because she died with a smile, tightly holding the cell phone…”   Tears full of my eyes….

My name is Lily. My father is a teacher. His students love him a lot because he is funny.

I love him too, but I think he can be “foolish(笨的)” sometimes.

Once we moved house and had to go shopping to buy new chairs and lights

In the supermarket we saw many beautiful lights. I liked some of them and made my father buy them.

When we got home, my father began to work out how much money we had spent that day.

Suddenly, he stopped. “Something's wrong,” he said. “I've got 300 yuan more than I should!”

“That's great,” I said. “You can buy me that cartoon book I want.”

Father said nothing. Instead, he counted how much money he had again and again.

“The salesgirl must have made a mistake. We should go back to the shop.” he said.

“Do we have to go back?” I asked, “Nobody will know we were given too much change. It would be foolish to go back.”

“It would not be ‘foolish.’” my father said angrily, “It's called being honest.”

At that moment, I looked into his eyes and knew he was right.

The salesgirl was surprised to see us in the shop again. But when we gave her the money, she thanked us a lot.

Suddenly, my father stopped me and smiled, “Do you still want that cartoon book?” he asked.

One day, I saw Harry sitting under a tree. He looked very sad. So I asked him what was wrong.
“Nothing,” He said, “I’m too short to join the school basketball team.” “And our P.E .teacher thinks I’ve little hope to be in the team in half a year,” he added.
“Why not join another team?” I asked.
“But my dream is to be an excellent basketball player in the future,” he said.
He told me his father wanted him to change his idea to join the school ping-pong team.
“Good idea.” I agreed. “You’re sure to be popular, because you have a smart head.”
The next day, he joined the school ping-pong team. He worked harder than any other boy. Soon he was very popular in the team and looked happy every day.
At the end of last month, his team took part in the city’s high school ping-pong match. He and his team beat the others and won the championship.

Dear Annie,
I have never written a letter to a newspaper before, I have just never felt the need to do such a thing. I have always felt I was quite able to do everything by myself. But now I know I was wrong.
Sometimes you really need help in life, I guess. And that’s why I’m writing this letter to you.
I have a happy family. I love my children and they love me . I’m a mother of three children. I know well how to bring up (带大)children, and two of them are already over twenty, so it is nothing new for me.
But now I have a serious problem: the Internet problem. My little son is just sixteen, and I feel he should do a lot of homework now , but he doesn’t seem to be interested in it . He can happily spend six or eight hours at a time on the Internet every day , He chats with people that he has never met before , but speaks little to us .He does lots of useless things on the Internet. And he sees red if you ask him to do his homework.
I just want him to be a good student . Now he seldom does his lessons at home. I’m afraid he will drop behind in his class soon. His father is a doctor , a very kind man . He never seems to be afraid of his father.
What can I do ?And don’t tell to talk to him. We’ve tried that and it didn’t work. But this is really a big problem in our family. I have tried everything I can think of . I
wonder how the Internet is so attractive(有吸引力的).You’re my last hope. Please tell me what I can do!
Yours,
Ellen Smith
