Just like your car, your brain needs fuel(燃料) and care to work. If you drive your car too many miles without adding gas, it will stop. Here are some tips to make sure your brain keeps working to meet your needs.

   Sleep well. Without enough sleep, you’ll simply go crazy. Your brain needs sleep to organize what’s happening during the day.    56  

      57   Very different from sleeping, meditation(沉思) gets your brain working by clearing your thoughts and keeping your mind in the present. Your brain finds peace in meditaion, and that produces energy.

      58   Some find beauty in the noise of an engine. Others find it in a baby’s laugh. This is what people have referred to when they advise us to “stop and smell the roses.” Whether you find beauty in flowers, in a baseball game, or in nature, enjoying beauty is the brain’s chance to stop and relax in a different way.

   Relax. Besides sleeping and thinking, your brain needs time to relax. You might relax by reading a book or a magazine.    59   A good rest can be useful to get rid of the day’s stress.

   These suggestions each can add to brain health.    60
