Learning another language isn't easy, but most people can learn a second language well if they’re willing to put in the necessary time. Here are some practical suggestions for studying effectively, overcoming anxiety, and learning the grammar and skills necessary for success in foreign language classes.

1.Language learning is cumulative(积累): you cannot put it off until the weekend._2.

Distribute(分配) your study time in 15 to 30 minutes period throughout the day

Study a different task each time: vocabulary now, grammar next, etc, Get an overview during half hour: spend 10 minutes reviewing dialog, 10 minutes learning new vocabulary, 10 minutes learning new grammar…_3._ About 80% of your study time should be spent on recitation(背诵)or practice.

Attend and participate in every class-even if you aren't well prepared

4._ Learn the grammar and vocabulary outside of class in order to make full use of the class time.

Spend a few minutes “warming up” before each class by speaking or reading the language.

Make yourself comfortable in the classroom

Get to know your classmates, so you'll feel you're among friends. Visit your teacher during office time to get acquainted(熟悉的) : explain your goals and fears about the course to your teacher.

Learn grammar if you don't already know it

Grammar is the skeleton(骨架) and the basic structure of a language, and you must learn it.

Practice for tests by doing what you'll have to do on the test

If the test will require you to write, then study by writing including spelling and accents. _5._ Ask for practice questions and make up your own test questions. Try to invent changes on patterns and forms over learning is also required in tests preparation: study beyond the paints of recognition to mastery.

Develop a good attitude

It is good to make mistakes, and here's why.

1. It's always good to try new things because when you are trying new things you are growing. If you never try anything new, how can you improve, bow can you expand, and how can you innovate? The simple answer is “You can't”. 2. With very few exceptions, everything you see in your physical world is The result of someone trying something new. Every single detail of every single thing is the result of someone trying something new. The chair you're sitting on; the fabric on the chair; the pattern on the fabric on the chair; the dye in the pattern on the fabric on the chair are all the direct result of someone trying something new.

3._Consider this: Edison failed l0 000 times before he perfected the light bulb. When asked how it felt to fail that many times, he remarked that he hadn't failed t0 00~ times, but rather had learned I0 000

things that didn't work.

Finally, when you make a mistake you are that much closer to success. Why?

Because when all is said and done, you will have tried some finite number of things before you succeed.

4. _

_5._ Quite the contrary, when you try something new you have to be willing to set some reasonable limits so that, in the event that it doesn't work out the way you want it to, you will be in a position to try again.

There is an old axiom that goes, “if you're not making mistakes, you're not trying hard enough.”

So go forth and make mistakes, and learn, and grow, and prosper.

A. Look around you.

B. First of all, mistakes are a clear sign that you are trying new things.

C. Every time you made a mistake you eliminated one of those things and are one step closer.

D. Another good thing about mistakes is this: when you are making mistakes, you are learning.

E. But this all doesn't mean that you should forge ahead with disregard for the consequences of a mistake.

F. Only by embracing and using your mistakes in this way can you make significant advances in your business and your career.

G. Can you imagine how many mistakes were made before all of these individual materials and components were perfected and then assembled into the automobiles we know today?

Develop Better Relationships with Neighbors

Good neighbors are a lot like electricity or running water:we don’t know how much we depend on them until we don’t have them. They make our lives more pleasant and give us a sense of who we wrte, both as an individual and as a member of the community. Here is how to develop your relationships with these very important people in your life.

1._Often neighbors don’t even know each other’s names. But it’s okay to be the one to break the ice , even if you’ve lived next door for years. Most neighbors enjoy making small talk with the folks on the other side of the fence. So as you see them at work in their yards, smile, wave, and say hello. Ask how their kids are (whether they’re babies or in college), whether they could use an extra cucumber from your garden, or what they think of the price at the local supermarket.

2._These days, the old Welcome Wagon is a thing of the past. But your new neighbors maybe feeling lonely and unsure, especially if they’re far from home, and might appreciate a friendly face bearing fresh-baked chocolate cakes. If they have kids, tell them where the children in theneighborhood live. Recommend the best places to eat and sleep. Invite them over for coffee or tea when they get settled, give them your number, and point to your house as you say good-bye.

3._ Return anything that you borrow from a neighbor, such as tools, in good repair and as soon as you’ve finished with them. Replace anything that belongs to your neighbor that you, your children, or your pets break or soil. Make sure that your car is not blocking their doorway. Such random acts of consideration will have your neighbors talking — and the talk will be good.

4._If you value a friendship with your neighbors, spend time with them. What better way to meet your neighbors than to invite them to an informal barbecue, pool party, or holiday open house? Better yet, you might even consider throwing a get-together in their honor. Deliver the invitations in person to everyone who lives on your street and chat with each for five minutes before moving on to the next house. This way, you will get an idea of what your neighbors are like so that you can plan for appropriate food and music.

5. In a good relationship, it’s really the little things that count. Help to bring in the mail for the elderly neighbor when there is a heavy rain. When your neighbor forgets to take in his rubbish cans, roll them back into his yard. If you’re truly concerned, you’ll know when your neighbor needs some cheering up — a bunch of flowers or a helping hand when it’s needed. All it takes to develop your relationship with neighbors is the respect for their feelings.
