A Geographic Survey of China < China is located in the east of Asia．It covers a huge area of 9, 600, 000 square kilometers. The country is bordered on the north, west and south by more than a dozen Asian countries. To the east is the Pacific Ocean. China has many big cities. Among the most famous are Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangzhou. There are also many high mountains in China．Mount Everest in the Himalayas is not only the highest mountain in China but also the highest in the world．The longest rivers in China are the Yangtze Rive and the Yellow River. They both run from the west to the east of the country.
