The United States of America is a developed country. It lies in the central part of North America. To the north is Canada and to the south is Mexico. The Atlantic Ocean is to the east and the Pacific Ocean is to the west. Being the fourth largest country in the world, it has an area of 9.36 million square kilometers. The country has a lot of lakes, mountains and the world famous river－the Mississippi. The USA is made up of fifty states, with Washington D. C. as its capital. The country has a population of about 236 million and English is their official language.
