题目内容
阅读下列短文, 从所给的四个选项中, 选出最佳答案。
Dolphins (海豚) are a type of small whale. They are interesting to scientists because of their intelligence (聪明), their speed, and some unusual characteristics of their bodies.
Dolphins can make many different types of sounds. People at sea noticed that dolphins often rode for a long time on the pressure wave of a moving ship, either in front or behind the ship.
Since the dolphins' natural home is the sea, it is difficult to study their normal behavior in captivity (监禁). Recently, however, scientists have been able to study the sounds of dolphins. They make low-pitched (低音的) sounds like barks, whistles, and screams. They also make very high-pitched sounds, much higher than the ones that people are able to hear.
Scientists have also learned that dolphins can remember sounds about as well as people can. But scientists have not found any evidence of a human type of language among dolphins.
A special quality of their skin makes it possible for them to move quickly through the water with the least amount of turbulence (水流涌动). Scientists have used information from studies of the body shape and movement of dolphins to improve the designs of ship and airplanes.
