While serious training is important for all dogs, playtime is just as important. Use these games to help teach your dog how to play.
1)Hide and Seek
Hide and seek isn't just for kids. Dogs can really enjoy this game. Pick up one of your dog's favorite toys or treats. Tell your dog to stay. When you are ready, call your dog to come to you. If possible, squeak(使吱吱叫)the toy or shake the treats. Reward your dog with praise and the toy/treat when she finds you.
2)Fetch
Many dogs have a natural ability to fetch. Other dogs can be taught how.Play indoors with a soft toy or outdoors in a fenced-in area with a ball or disc. For dogs that really love to run, try this game of fetch!
3)Find the Treat
Dogs have superior senses of smell, and most love to use their noses to find food. Let your dog use her brain and her nose to find hidden goodies. First, have your dog stay out of sight. Then, hide her favorite treats in various places around the room. If help is needed, you can lead her around or point to areas for her to explore.
Whatever the game, safety comes first! Remember to watch your dog for signs of exhaustion or overheating when you are playing. Stop if your dog seems tired or shows signs of anxiety. When other dogs or people are around, it may create a dangerous distraction(分神).
A. Then, go to find a good hiding place.
B. Try different games to see which your dog responds to best.
C. A good game of fetch can be played almost anywhere.
D. You can include games in training as well.
E. Also be aware of your surroundings when playing with your dog.
F. Encourage your dog to play with other dogs.
G. Bring your dog back in and tell her to “go find!”

下句的“When other dogs or people are around”与此处的“your surroundings”一致,游戏时如果周围有其他的人或狗,会使游戏中的狗分神,故选E。

【题目】阅读理解
Light travels at a speed which is about a million times faster than the speed of sound. In one second, light travels about 300,000 km, but sound travels only 344m. You can get some idea of this difference by watching the start of a race. If you stand some distance away from the Starter, you can see smoke come from his gun before the sound reaches your ears.
This great speed of light produces some strange facts. Sunlight takes about 8 minutes to reach us. If you look at the light of the moon tonight, remember that the light rays (光线) left the moon 1.3 seconds before they reached you. The nearest star is so far away that the light which you can see from it tonight started to travel towards you four years ago at a speed of nearly 2 million km per minute. In some cases the light from one of tonight's stars started on its journey to you before you were born.
Thus, if we want to be honest, we cannot say “The stars are shinning tonight.” We have to say, “The stars look pretty. They were shining four years ago but their light has only just reached Earth.”

A.as fast as

D.sound travels about a million times faster than light
(3)Sunlight obviously (显然的) __________ than the light of the moon.
A.has to travel a greater distance
B.moves less quickly
C.travels much more quickly
D.is less powerful
(4)The scientific way of saying “The stars are shining tonight” should be __________.
A.the stars have been shining all the time
B.the stars seen tonight will shine four years later
C.the stars were shining long ago but seen tonight
D.the starlight seen today could be sera four years ago

【题目】When Seattle-based poet Heather McHugh won $500,000 from the Mac Arthur Foundation, she didn’t buy a Maserati or fly to Paris. Instead, she put the money in the bank and continued teaching college courses and writing poetry. It wasn’t until about two years later, in 2011, that she finally figured out what to do with it.

She discovered there are millions of caregivers in the United States taking care of the chronically(长期地)ill or disabled. “It’s a heartbreaking contract of love,” she says. So in 2012, Heather formed Caregifted, a non-profit organization that offers a seven-day, all-expenses-paid vacation to Vancouver Island to people who have been caregivers for at least ten years.”It’s hard physical, psychological, and emotional work. “It’s clear they deserve and need a respite,” she says.

Tricia Eisner, a single mother of 19-year-old triplet(三胞胎中的一个)boys, two of them with severe illness, was one of the first caregivers to go on vacation, in 2013. She was afraid the heaviness would return when the week was over, but to her surprise, it hasn’t been back since.

Heather says, “Everybody needs restorative time. For some, it’s life-extending.” Tricia and the other guests aren’t the only ones to benefit from Caregifted ; Heather has too. “I thought I was the queen of love, being a poet, ” Heather says. “But I didn’t know a thing about love until I met these people.”

【题目】There is no sound worse than an alarm clock first thing in the morning. Some of us are the type to jolt out of bed with a smile.1 While I have a love-hate relationship with mornings,I have found that there are indeed ways to make mornings a little more bearable.

Mentally plan out your day.

One way to combat the morning blues is to mentally plan out your day right when you wake up to prepare yourself for the day.Give yourself at least one little thing to look forward to each day.2

Meditate.

Meditation (冥想) will clear your mind and relax your body.Even just ten minutes of focused mental thought can completely clear your mind.3 Of all of them,I like Headspace best, which provides 10-minute sessions that leave you feeling relaxed, and ready to have a great day!4

People say “look good, feel good.” If you have your outfit ready in advance, you are more likely to feel confident and mentally prepared for the day.Whether it’s a pair of jeans or a sweater, pick out clothes that you feel great in.

Go with a friend or classmate to breakfast, school, etc.

5 Sharing the first moments of the day with others will fuel your mind and let you ease into your day. Also, having a regimented (受管制的) morning routine with others will help ensure that you are on-time for school and that you have a reason to get up in the morning.
