I’ve just happened to learn from an article that most Chinese students are suffering from poor

eyesight and I am worrying whether you have things like that．Are you yourself nearsighted as well? What have you done to hurt, or protect your eyes? What would you suggest to improve the situation in general?

Dear John,

Just as you have learned, most of us have eyesight problems．This may mainly result from the fact

that we are loaded with too much school work, spending a lot of time reading and writing．Another reason may be that we don't use our eyes properly, reading in bed or poor light, or sitting long hours in front of computer, for example．

I am shorted--sighted, like many of us．I started to wear glasses at the age of 12, as a result of too

much online game playing．Then I realized what was wrong and then corrected myself, and paying more attention to eye care at the same time．Though I cannot throw away my glasses, I have succeeded preventing them from getting thicker．

 I have three advice for our poor eyesight problems: less school work, proper use of eyes and

regular exercise．And now schools are trying that．
