A Fire Nearby 　　Last night a fire broke out not far from my home. 　　I didn't know exactly when it began. I was woken up at midnight from my dream by running steps and the shouts “Fire!” “Fire! ”and I saw through the window people passing by hurriedly with basins and buckets in their hands. The fire was wild at first, for the sky seemed to be lit up for a time. The fire lasted at least half an hour until the firefighters came. No death was heard, but a child was known to get hurt and sent to hospital. The fire is said to be caused by a lighted cigarette end thrown away by somebody who passed by.
