Here are some suggestions to make your trip successful, if you plan on traveling outside of the United State s. Planning is the key. At least three weeks in advance think about what you will need to assemble (收集). That way, you will not be doing things at the last minute.

Make several copies of all of your important documents. Those include all things you’ve been issued and the first two pages in your passport showing your picture, birth date, passport number. Keep one set of copies in your carry-on luggage, one in your checked baggage and leave a set at home preferably with someone who can send them to you if needed.

Visit the Office of the International students in the Intercultural Center to have your student card signed and to request a “enrollment verification letter (入学签到书)” and a copy of your financial statement. Do this at least one week before you travel. Do not wait until the last minute.

Be sure your visa is up to date and that it will not expire (过期) within the next six months. If you are traveling outside of the United States to a country other than your home country, you are urged to contact the embassy of that country to learn if you need a visa to enter that country. If so, ask what the requirements, cost and timeframe are to apply for a visa before you go to the bank. Keep in mind that it often takes 2—3 weeks to process a visa application, so you should leave enough time for it.

If you are traveling in the United States, it is always a good idea to carry your original passport and ID card with you at all times. If you are stopped by any government official (police, border patrols, immigration officers, etc.), you will be required to show them your original documents.

A. The bank in a foreign country B. The bank in your own country

43. We can learn from the passage that________.

A. it is easy and simple to prepare for your traveling abroad

B. to get a copy of your financial statement needs at least one week
