If the pollution can’t be controlled, people’s health will be in danger. Worse still, it has a bad effect on the environment, killing almost all the fish or wildlife in or along rivers. The reasons are not hard to find. First, we take what we get from nature for granted without the slightest awareness of protecting the rivers we depend on. Second, with the economic growth, more and more waste materials have been poured into water.

Actually, it is just like killing the goose that lays the golden egg. There is no denying that urgent measures should be taken to prevent the situation going from bad to worse.
