Being organized is an important skill for school and life.  When you're well organized, you can stay
focused, instead of spending time hunting things down.    1   For schoolwork, it means having one
notebook or place where you store all your assignments, so you know what you have to do and when.
Keeping labeled folders(贴有标签的文件夹) for handouts(课堂讲义)and keeping all your
schoolwork neat and in a specific place-these are the main parts of organization.
For home stuff, being organized means having a place to put your things and putting them back as you
go.    2   It means keeping your schoolbag, your shoes, and your clean underwear in the same places so
you always know where to find them.
Planning is part of being organized, too.    3   Calendars, lists, and schedules can help you plan.  You
can buy or draw a calendar and keep it near your workplace.  Making a schedule or "to-do" list for
yourself is a good idea.  Looking at your list helps you keep track of what you need to do.    4  Check
off things when you've done them.  Use your list to help you decide which thing is most important to
work on first.
5  But once you're organized, it feels great.  The less time you spend hunting around for things or
panicking about homework, the more time you have for better things, like reading a good book or
playing.

A.  Add new things as you get assignments.
B.  First, you should get your schoolwork organized.
C.  It means hanging your coat up instead of dropping it on the floor or throwing it on a chair
D.  It takes some extra efforts to organize yourself and your stuff.
E.  Planning means deciding what you will do and when you will do it.
F.  You will benefit a lot from a good habit.
G.  What does it mean to be organized?

do business in France, you have to get to know French culture, to make marketing plans, and to run your
business by local laws.
1   The French take great pride in their language, so anyone who does not speak it may run the
risk of being disrespected by his French colleagues or business partners. Also, another reason why
learning French is important is that it is a great way to show every possible French business partner that
you care and respect their country's culture and language.
The first thing that you should do when meeting someone new is to shake his hand firmly and always
look the person in the eye. In social meetings with friends, kissing is common.

usually consist of an appetizer, main meal with wine, cheese, dessert and coffee, and normally take up
to two hours.        4

Choosing the right job is probably one of the most important decisions we have to make in life, and it
is frequently one of the hardest decisions we have to make.
1 There are people who can answer an insignificant(无关紧要) advertisement in the local paper and
land the best job in the world; others writes to all sorts of places, and never seem to get a reply at all,and
then there are those who, through no active decision of their own, just seem to be in the right place at the

thinking that he might one day sail one of them. One day, on his usual wandering, he heard the captain of
a ship complaining that he could not sail because one member of his crew was sick. Without stopping to
think, the young man offered to take his place.  3
This story also illustrates the importance of seizing an opportunity when it presents itself. If the young
man had gone home to ponder(考虑) his decision for a week, he might have missed his chance. It is one
thing to be offered an opportunity.  4
Sometimes we hear stories about people who break all rules and still seem to land the well-paid jobs. When you go for a jod interview or fill out an application, you are expected to say nice things about the
company to which you are applying.   5  And within a year this person had become general manager of
