Welcome to our village!

Great changes have taken place in my hometown. Roads have been built to join many villages, so it is very convenient to transport agricultural products everywhere all over our country. With the agricultural tax cancelled, each person’s annual income has reached 3000 on average. Almost all families have installed telephones and some even have access to the Internet. All children old enough to go to school can receive nine years of compulsory education free of charge.

Such is the introduction of our village.

The Mid-autumn Festival, that is one important traditional festival in China, falls in August 15th of the lunar calendar every year. It was celebrated both in China and many Asian country. People believe that a full of moon is the symbol of reunion and good luck. This is also a custom to express best wishes to their beloved ones at this particularly time. On that day they usually go back home to have a family get-together, so they appreciate the beautiful full moon, enjoyed the typical food—the moon cake. All Chinese have wonderful time at the festival.

I’ve learned that you are interested in Beijing Opera, so I’ve come to give you two ticket for tomorrow evening’s Beijing Opera at Mei Lanfang Theater. But it’s real a pity that you happened to be out. So I have to leave the tickets with this note. The  opera will be put on by some famous actors or actresses. He is well worth watching.
