To be confident

Confidence of success is almost success. Here’s how to believe in yourself.

Remember that everyone struggles with confidence. Some people are good at hiding it, but nearly every person has struggled with his or her self-confidence at one point. 1.

Accept compliment(恭维;敬意) politely. When someone compliments you, make eye contact, smile, and say “thank you”. It shows that you’re polite and have a secure sense of self-worth. If you’re still uncomfortable taking compliments, try giving one back after you’ve accepted one. 2.

3. That’s a simple and an effective psychological technique to become confident. When you are talking louder you are sending the signal that you are confident, and as you make it as a habit you will feel more confident. But don’t be dominating(专横的).

Look the part. Or, as the saying goes, “Fake it till you make it.” 4. Devote a little time each day to make sure you’re presenting yourself well. Keep your shoulders back, walk with purpose instead of dragging your feet, and sit up straight. Smile and make eye contact. It’s a small change, but it can work wonders on what other people think of you.

Develop your interests. If there’s a sport or hobby you’ve always wanted to be good at, now’s the time! Improving your skills will show that you are talented, and make you confident. Learn a musical instrument or a foreign language; take up an art form like painting----whatever it is that catches your interest. 5. Remember that learning is a process, and you’re in it for the small victories and the relaxing time, not to be the best ever.

A. Make a list.

B. You’re not alone!

C. Talk a little louder.

D. Stop comparing yourself with everyone else.

E. Don’t get discouraged if you’re not immediately awesome.

F. This can help you feel like the score is “even” and you haven’t been too prideful.

G. If you know that you look like a confident person, eventually you’ll start to feel it, too.

Last week I was riding my special motorbike and then stopped at a convenience store. As I was getting my wheelchair off the back, a man watched me from his car and I noticed a wheelchair in his back seat.We spoke for a moment and I asked him about the wheelchair. He answered that it was for his daughter.“Well, do you think she would like to go for a ride on my motorbike with me?” I asked. He seemed shocked that a total stranger would ask him this.He thought about it for a second and said, “OK, as long as I can follow you.”

He introduced me to Amy and he sat her on my back seat. Her father followed me for a few miles and she talked non-stop about what she wanted for Christmas. As we came back to the convenience store, she said, “This ride is the best Christmas present I could ever receive.I have been in a wheelchair my whole life and didn't know I could do this.” I told her about some of the other things I do (ski, travel the world by myself, etc.).As her father was taking her off my bike, she turned to him and said, “Oh Daddy, I'm going to be OK.Mr.Bryant does all kinds of things, and I will too.” Her father turned away as a tear of joy rolled down his cheek. He hugged me and said, “I was sitting here praying for a gift for Amy that would encourage her.She often felt that her life was dull compared to other children.God answered my prayer just now.Now I pray that God will bless you for your gift to Amy today.” I believed what he said.Being kind and thoughtful to others, we can be an answer to prayer.

He all he could, but one November day, he passed away. At that time, my parents were visiting him in Chicago, and my other grandparents from Virginia were us. Our parents came home early that visit. I still remember they sat all of us down and told us the news. I felt a(n) of depression, loss and . I ran outside into the crisp November air and silent tears.

Almost a year passed, and we were eating dinner at the dinner table. A discussion started about how we could help find a for cancer to save other families from tragedies. My older sister Molly and I came up with the idea to sell honey from our Virginia grandparents’ beehives. I came up with the name Hives for Lives and we had our business !

The business started taking the honey and some beeswax (蜂蜡) from the hives. We left enough for the bees to through the winter. I only got stung (刺痛) once! Then we went through the long of filtering (过滤) and storing the honey. it all came together, and we got down to and selling our product and message. Last year, we $2,000 for the American Cancer Society and all of it went to a camp for children who have cancer. This year, with a few of our friends, Molly and I on selling beeswax candles and lip balm (润唇膏). With a lot of help, we raised $9,300!

I learned many things from my grandfather, such as the importance of taking and helping those around us. I know that he would be very proud of the things I’m doing today.
