The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has declared October 15 as Global Handwashing Day in 2005．The first Global Handwashing Day is on October 15 of 2008.Activities are planned over twenty countries to get millions of people in the developing world to wash their hands with soap. Soap is important because it increases the time that people spend washing.
