Remember  22  “gentle” pressure was given to you with words like “If you don’t do as I say, I will…”. I’m sure you will never forget!
23  these are only part of child’s  24 . No matter how kind and loving parents may be, children often  25  from some terrible and illogical  26  since they can’t understand the world around them. They often have such fears in the dark or in the dream. Adults can  27  their fears with other adults  28  children have to face their fears alone.
But the most  29  part of childhood is a period when you  30  to go out of it, the period when you go into adolescence(youth).Teenagers start to be  31  their parents and this causes them great  32 . There is a complete lack of self-confidence during this time. Adolescents pay much attention to their  33  and the impression they make on others. They  feel shy, awkward and clumsy(笨拙的). Feelings are strong and hearts  34  broken. Teenagers  35  moments of great happiness or black despair. And through this period, adults seem to be more unkind than ever.

In all one’s lifetime, it is  28 that one spends the most time being with or dealing with, but it is precisely oneself that one has the least  29 of. When you are going upwards in life, you tend to overestimate yourself; when you are going downhill you tend to underestimate yourself. It's  30  that you think it wise for yourself to know your place and stay away from worldly trouble wearing a mask of cowardice, behind   31 the flow of sap in your life will be retarded (妨碍).
To get a thorough understanding of oneself  32 doing oneself a favor when it's needed. In time of anger, do yourself a favor by giving vent (发泄) to it in a quiet place so that you won't be hurt by its flames; in time of  33 , do yourself a favor by sharing it with your friends so as to change a gloomy mood into a cheerful one; in time of tiredness, do yourself a favor by getting a good sleep or taking some tonic. Show yourself loving  34 about your health and daily life. Unless you know perfectly well when and how to do yourself a favor, you won't be confident and ready enough to resist the attack of illness.
To get a thorough understanding of oneself is to get a full control of ones life. Then one will  35 one's life full of color and flavor.

John, a famous musician, took his priceless antique violin and played it in the crowded subway station. The music from the violin was delicately streaming throughout the whole station. However, during the one-hour play, only six or seven people were truly appreciating the charming music. A three-year-old kid was so fascinated by the music that he forgot everything around. John only got 52 dollars for his work that day.
However, in normal days, when John is about to hold a concert, one ticket can be sold at more than 100 dollars and it is extremely hard to buy a ticket even at such a high price. Therefore, later, many passers-by in the station that day felt deeply regretful for not recognizing the famous musician and missing such a valuable but cheap music feast.
I have a very busy friend who had totally changed after knowing that his wife came down with incurable illness. He cooked by himself for the family and took a walk with his wife every day. Nonetheless, his wife still did not manage to conquer the illness and passed away after three months. After that, he often sighed miserably that due to his past busy life, he had missed a lot of beautiful time with his wife. But now, it is impossible to make up for it.
It is no use crying over spilt milk. We have missed a lot of precious things in our life without knowing to cherish them.
Actually, I also missed something precious before. The reason why we would have missed those precious things is less than simple: we had thought that we could still own them tomorrow.
Nevertheless, tomorrow is actually by no means reliable. There was a famous Buddhist monk saying that in many people’s lives, they have only done two things: waiting and regretting. The result is that they were always too late to cherish what they had before they lost it. We would often claim to do something when we grow up, or when we have money or when we become old, etc. However, when we reach the condition we have expected, we could no longer realize our wish, because we have lost it by then.

I always carry at least $3 in my car and also in my pocket. I save it for the person who asks if I can “spare some  36 ”. Smiling and making eye contact, I always   37 very cheerfully with a comment like, “Yes, I would love to”  38 “It would be my pleasure”. And I give them the  39  .
Then I  40 it with my next $3 for the next person. I   41 spend this money myself. I honor the idea that it belongs to the  42 of the next person who asks for it. Three dollars is a small  43 , yet it means a lot to the person who might only expect 25 cents,  44 when delivered with respect to them.
I have also formed the habit of carrying  45 I think the needy may be able to use. I carry hats, socks, gloves, and an umbrella. Recently I  46 some care packages for the homeless. It  47 to me that things like band-aids, toothpaste, aspirin, combs, as well as food would be of use. I imagined that they would need things that are not easy to  48 , so I chose plastic or paper containers. The folks who  49 them were delighted.
But I think it’s not just that I give them things that  50 . It’s that I see them for the beautiful ray of lights that they are. I know that they are  51 expressions of God and that this is how they are at the current time, not who they are. I am  52 to also give a hug and a smile with the money. And I always remember it is they who bless me with the  53 to be kind! What a joy! I felt  54 good and proud of what I had done. See, that’s the added  55 about completing acts of kindness —you feel fantastic.

The boy had a big smile on his face   25  he had just been set free from some sort of   26 . The boy would then fall to the grass,   27 , and without hesitation or without looking back at his mother, run as fast as he could again, still with a   28  on his face.
Kids, when they fall down, don't view their falling down as failure, but   29 , they treat it as a learning experience. They try and try again until they   30 . While I was touched by the boy's persistence, I was   31  touched by the manner in which he ran. With each attempt, he looked so   32  and so natural — no signs of fear, nervousness, or of being discouraged. His only   33  was to run freely and to do it as effectively as he could. He was just being a   34  — just being himself—being completely in the moment. He was not looking for   35  or was not worrying about whether   36  was watching. He didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that maybe someone would see him   37  and that it would be   38  if he did fall. No, all that   39  to him was to accomplish the task, to feel the experience of running fully and freely. I learned a lot from that   40  and experience, and have successfully brought that lesson with me in my many pursuits(追求) in life.
