One possible version:
Recently our class has held a discussion on whether it is right to have a Chinese name with English letters in it. Opinions are divided among us.
Some students state that China's rapidly growing population means more and more people are using the same names, and to make our names different from others, we should have the right to use English letters. Besides, such a personalized name may leave an impression on people and help you get a job more easily. China, they say, has become much more international and people will accept the new idea.
Those against the idea, however, argue that English has 26 letters, and that if everybody used such a name, it would be extremely difficult for the police and the public to manage or recognize these names. What's more, since a Chinese character has more connotations, which describes our personality better, why should we bother using an English letter?
Personally, we are Chinese, so we should have Chinese names and respect Chinese traditional culture. I would consider it our responsibility and at no time should we forget it
