分析 本文是一篇摘自报刊上的餐厅促销活动的广告.文章主要介绍了餐厅的地理位置,促销的起止时间,食物种类,优惠活动等.

解答 25.A 细节理解题.根据Munchies Food Hall栏中Order from the following部分内容可知,有Succulent chicken rice,Spicy satay beef和Plump pork chops,但没有lamb.故选A.
26.C 推理判断题.根据Munchies Food Hall栏中的10% discount on all orders above $20.00,可知,总消费价格在20美元之上可享受10%的折扣.所以如果花费21美元,打折之后价格会低一些,故选C.
27.B 细节理解题.根据Win Prizes and Gifts!部分最后一条中的A free raffle ticket is given with every receipt可知,每个在Munchies吃饭的人都会得到一张抽奖券.故选B.
28.A 推理判断题.根据黑体部分Winner to be announced in The Straits Times on the 15th of January和最后一句Come down on Saturday at noon to find out可知,当我读一月十五日的海峡时报时,我会发现谁赢得了澳大利亚西部之行.故选A.

12."We are going to have to get rid of Bay this year,"Meg's dad said."That horse can't work another winter."
It was October,and snow was falling lightly over their part of Montana.Meg knew the ranch needed strong,steady horses to bring the sheep back from pasture.Still,she could hardly take in the enormity of her father's words.
"I know Bay's old,"Meg told her dad,"but he is my horse.Won't you let me keep him?I'd feed him.He won't be a problem."
"We use horses for labor,"her dad said,"We don't keep them as pets."
Meg understood.She thought about Casey,a dog she had once loved.He became lost when he chased a wandering sheep and never came home.Meg had been sad for weeks.She knew that on a ranch,animals come and go.You couldn't grow attached to them.Bay was different,though.The horse had a personality all his own.
She went to the stable and stroked the old brown horse's head.As Bay nuzzled her hand,Meg tried to imagine what the ranch would be like without her favorite horse.
The snow was falling faster,and dark gray clouds were settling over the peaks.Meg had an idea.She saddled Bay,put her foot in the stirrup,and swung up."Let's go!"she cried,and nudged him with heels.
They galloped over the meadow,onto a steep and narrow trail,and up a wooded slope."We'll round up the sheep now,before the snow gets too thick,"Meg said."We will show Dad how well you work.".
The sheep stood in a high pasture,bleating at the storm clouds.Meg heard a lone bleat from above.She looked for the lost sheep but couldn't see it."It must be stuck in the bush above the rock wall,"she thought.
She got off her horse and began to climb up the steep wall.She was almost at the top when the heel of her foot slipped into a crack.She lost her balance and fell onto a rock.She tried to stand,but her foot hurt too much.
Then Bay got into position under the rock. He was telling Meg to crawl onto his back!
Painfully,Meg got her feet into the stirrups.Slowly and carefully,Bay carried her down the snow trail.
On the way down,they met Dad riding his gray horse."What happened?"he asked anxiously.
"Bay saved me."Meg told him what happened.
Dad's voice shook when he said,"I wouldn't get rid of that horse for anything."

At this time of year,few sights arouse more feelings of (41)F and goodwill than the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree.
The popularity of a tree at Christmas is (42)E due to my great-great grandparents,Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.After this(43)K picture was published,many families wanted a Christmas tree of their own,and the custom soon spread.
In 1949,I spent Christmas in Malta as a newly-married naval wife.We have returned to that island over the years,including last month for a meeting of Commonwealth(英联邦)leaders; and this year I met another group of leaders:The Queen's Young Leaders,an inspirational group,each of them a(44)I of hope in their own Commonwealth communities.
Actually,(45)J round the tree gives us a chance to think about the year ahead.It also allows us to (46)H on the year that has passed,as we think of those who are far away or no longer with us.Many people say the first Christmas after losing a(an) (47)A one is particularly hard.But it's also a time to remember all that we have to be thankful for.We should be thankful for the people who bring love and happiness into our own lives,and look for ways of (48)D that love to others,whenever and wherever we can.
One (49)B for thankfulness this summer was marking seventy years since the end of the Second World War.On VJ Day,we (50)C the remaining veterans(老兵) of that terrible conflict in the Far East,as well as remembered the thousands who never returned.

I wish you a very happy Christmas.
2.Beijing's annoying smog(雾) seems to have hurt the city's appeal to tourists.Last year,Beijing Youth Daily reported that the number of visitors to Beijing (33)had fallen(fall) 50percent since January.It's said that the city's bad air quality was to blame for the decline.It's also more difficult (34)to attract(attract) high-end employees to work in Beijing,especially those with children.
However,the blanket of poisonous smog hasn't hurt Beijing's office market,(35)which has jumped up quickly on a global ranking to become the fourth-most-expensive location to rent office space in the world.According to a recent research,office space in Beijing's Central Business District costs (36)on average $1,412per square meter per year.
That's more expensive than No.5-rankes central Tokyo or No.6-rangked Madison & Fifth Avenues in New York.The research took into consideration both (37)published (publish) rental rates and"additional costs,"which include agent fees and (38)othercosts to make the deal happen.
London (39)remains (remain) the world's most expensive city in which to rent office space.Hong Kong,home to the priciest office space in Asia,comes in second globally.The cities (40)experiencing(experience) the highest annual growth in office rental rates are both in South Africa with 40percent rate rise for Durban and 44percent for Sandton.
