Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate.He is always in a good  36 and always has something  37  to say.

If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the  38  how to look on the positive side of the situation.Seeing this style really made me  39  , so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don' t  40  .You can' t be positive all the time. How do you do it?"

Michael replied, each morning I  41 and say to myself 'Mike, you have two  42 today. You can choose to be in a  43  mood or be in a bad mood.' I  44  to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a  45  or choose to learn from it.I choose to learn from it."

     "Yeah, right.It isn't that easy." I protested.

"Yes it is, " Michael said."Life is all about choices. You choose how you react  46 situations and how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line is: It's your choice  47  you live life."

Several years later, I heard Michael was involved in a serious 48 , falling off 60 feet from a communications tower. After l8 hours of surgery, and weeks of intensive  49  , Michael recovered. When I asked him what had  50  his mind as the accident took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was the well being of my soon-to-born daughter," Michael replied."Then, as I  51  on the ground, remembered I had two choices: I could choose to live or I could choose to  52  .I chose to live."

Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also  53  his amazing attitude.

I learned from him  54  every day we have a choice to live fully. 55 is everything.

At the age of seven, I went to see my grandma in Warwick and spent the summer with her. One day I went to a general store with a   34 full of what Grandma needed.
“Excuse me, I need to   35  these,” I said .
“So ? I’m not your   36 ! You should get yourself a basket and start filling,” Miss Bee, the owner of the store, said   37  without smiling. “If you’re   38  you’ll be home by sunset.” Sunset was five hours away.   39 , the store was a puzzle, and I wasn’t sure if I would make it.
I visited Miss Bee several times a week that   40 . One afternoon when I watched her adding 35 cents instead of 29 for a can of beans, I   41  her immediately. Though being caught overcharging , she didn’t seem   42 , and she just fixed the price.
All summer long I was always tricked by Miss Bee. No sooner had I memorized the soda’s location on the shelf than she rearranged the shelves and made me  43 it all over again. But by summer’s end the   44 trip that had once taken me an hour was done in 15 minutes.
The morning I was to return to Brooklyn, I stepped in to get a bottle of water.
“What did you   45  this summer?” she said.
“That you’re so mean!” I whispered.
To my   46 , Miss Bee laughed. “When you get older, you’ll be glad our paths crossed!”
Glad I met Miss Bee ? No!
Until one day my daughter came to me with homework  47 . “It’s too hard,” she said. “Could you finish it for me?”
“If I do it for you, how will you ever learn to do it yourself?” Suddenly, I was   48  at that general store where Miss Bee had really taught me something all those years ago.

Honey(蜂蜜)from the African forest is not only a kind of natural sugar, it is also delicious. Most people, and many animals, like eating it. However, the only way for them to get that honey is to find a wild bees' nest(巢)and take the honey from it. Often, these nests are high up in trees, and it is difficult to find them. In parts of Africa, though, people and animals looking for honey have a strange and unexpected helper一a little bird called a honey guide.
The honey guide does not actually like honey, but it does like the wax (蜂蜡) in the beehives (蜂房). The little bird cannot reach this wax, which is deep inside the bees’ nest. So, when it finds a suitable nest, it looks for someone to help it. The honey guide gives a loud cry that attracts the attention of both passing animals and people. Once it has their attention, it flies through the forest, waiting from time to time for the curious animal or people as it leads them to the nest. When they
finally arrive at the nest, the follower reaches in to get at the delicious honey as the bird patiently waits and watches. Some of the honey, and the wax, always falls to the ground, and this is when the honey guide takes its share.
Scientists do not know why the honey guide likes eating the wax, but it is very determined in its efforts to get it. The birds seem to be able to smell wax from a long distance away. They will quickly arrive whenever a beekeeper is taking honey from his beehives, and will even enter churches when beeswax candles are being lit.
