Good afternoon, everyone!

The topic of my speech today is ¡°to be a good partner¡±. Cooperation is a good way for us to learn from each other and it can save us a lot of time and energy.

We will be lucky enough to find someone we like to cooperate with, which will make us feel very happy. However, we often have to cooperate with someone we dislike. In this case, we should learn to put up with some of his shortcomings and try to discover his advantages.

How can we become a good partner? In my opinion, firstly, we should try to listen to others¡¯ opinions. If he makes mistakes, try to point them out in a polite way. Besides, never force your ideas on others.

Thank you for your listening!

Maybe you are an average student. __1._ This is not necessarily so, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here¡¯s how.

Plan your time carefully. When planning your work, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a schedule of your time. First your time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then decide a good, regular time for studying. __2.__ A weekly schedule may not solve all your problems, but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.

Make good use of your time in class. __3.___ Listening carefully in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.

Study regularly. When you get home from school, go over your notes; look at the important points that your teacher is going to discuss the next day, read that material. _4.___ If you do these things regularly, the material will become more meaningful, and you¡¯ll remember it longer.

Develop a good attitude towards tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge. The world won¡¯t end if you don¡¯t pass a test, so don¡¯t be over worried.

5.___ You will probably discover them after you have tried these.

A. There are other methods that might help you with your studying.

B. Don¡¯t forget to set aside enough time for relaxation.

C. Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teacher says.

D. No one can become a top student unless he or she works hard.

E. You probably think you will never be a top student.

F. Make full use of class time to take notes of what the teacher says in class.

G. This will help you understand the next class.

Tips for cooking on a Tight Schedule

From my experience, there are three main reasons why people don¡¯t cook more often: ability, money and time, 1.____Money is a topic I¡¯ll save for another day. So today I want to give you some wisdom about how to make the most of the time you spend in the kitchen. Here are three tips for great cooking on a tight schedule:

1. Think ahead. The moments when I think cooking is a pain are when I¡¯m already hungry and there is nothing ready to eat. So think about of the coming week. When will you have time to cook? Do you have the right materials ready? 2.______

2.Make your time worth it. When you do find time to cook a meal, make the most of it and save yourself time later on. Are you making one loaf of bread? 3.______ it takes around the same amount of time to make more of something. So save yourself the effort for a future meal.

3.4.________ This may surprise you, but one of the best tools for making cooking worth your time is experimentation. It gives you the chance to hit upon new ideas and recipes that can work well with your appetite and schedule. The more you learn and the more you try, the more ability you have to take control of your food and your schedule.

Hopefully that gives you a good start. 5.______ and don¡¯t let a busy schedule discourage you from making some great changes in the way you eat and live!

A. Try new things.

B. Ability is easily improved.

C. Make three or four instead.

D. Understand your food better.

E. Cooking is a burden for many people.

F. Let cooking and living simply be a joy rather than a burden.

G. A little time planning ahead can save a lot of work later on.

When I was in my fourth year of teaching, I was also (and am still) a high school track and field coach (Ìᄊ½ÌÁ·). One year, I had a student, John, who entered my class when he was a junior (ÈýÄ꼶ѧÉú). John changed to our school from Greece, and seemed to be interested in athletics, so I encouraged him to join our track team. I explained to him that even though he had never taken part in it before, I did believe that he could do well in any event, and I would be willing to coach him at whichever ones interested him. He accepted the offer, and began to work hard at every practice.

About a month later, I had found out from other sources that John was a first-class tennis player, winning various junior awards in his home country. I went to him asking, ¡°John, I really appreciate that you came out for the track team, but why didn¡¯t you play tennis instead? It seems that would interest you a lot more, since you¡¯re so good at it.¡±

John answered, ¡°Well, I like tennis, but you told me that you believed in me, and that you thought I could do well in track, so I wanted to try it for that reason.¡±

From then on, I often remember my student¡¯s reply. I told it to a friend and she suggested I write it down to share somewhere with more teachers. No matter how critical (²»ÂúµÄ) students can be of themselves, I¡¯ve found that a simple ¡°I trust that you can do it!¡± can go a long way!
