If you are invited to dinner in Australia, be sure not to be there earlier than the
time set. You may get there five or ten minutes later, if you arrive earlier, the host and the hostess may still be busy preparing the dishes. Both would feel uneasy.
If something unexpected turns up and you can’t get there on time, you should call and tell them that you will be late. And if you arrive late, just apologize and then do not worry about it.
You don’t have to bring any gifts to the host or hostess. But for the first time, it is better to bring a small gift, for example, a bottle of wine or a bunch of flowers.
If there are some dishes you don’t like, just leave them as they are. Do not forget to tell the host or hostess how much you have enjoyed the dishes when dinner is over.
