     Due to the Beijing Olympic Games, it has become very popular to study English. Recently, we have had
a discussion on  "Why Should We Learn English?" on the Internet, Some responses from different classes
of people are as follows:
     The majority of middle school students think English is their favorite suhject and learning English can
make life more enjoyable.
     A great many college students believe English helps them a lot. They believe a good knowledge of English
gives them a better chance to read many books, newspapers and magazines. They can also find more job
chances and find good jobs more easily than others if they can master English.
     In most teachers's opinion, English is of great importance. They point out that English has become an
international language. It is useful in politics, cconomy, and culture and it is particularly important in the fields
of science and technology. A green hand in English may be considered as an illiterate in modern society.
