I believe that cheating is wrong,but sometimes school can be so stressful (有压力的) that you have to look at your neighbor's paper or bring a cheat sheet.Many of your classmates cheat,so when you see them cheat and get good grades,you want to cheat as well.
Crystal,16
10th Nov.2014
Students should not cheat.It is students'responsibility (责任) to get knowledge for college and life.People should know that cheating is wrong and feel some kind of guilt when they do it even though they may please their parents and teachers in this way.
Edison,17
11th Nov.2014
It makes me feel good when I have a chance to cheat but I don't.In the eighth grade,we were taking a test and everyone got up out of their seats when the teacher left the room.But I didn't.I'd like to look at my report card and say honestly,"This is my grade."
Sharon,18
12th Nov.2014
There's no doubt that cheating is wrong.Also,it's unlucky that so many students feel the pressure(压力)to cheat.For me,cheating is just a waste of time because it takes more effort (努力) to cheat than to study.I understand the pressure to cheat,but I don't agree with it.
Fiona,16
13th Nov.2014
I think,well,cheating is OK if it's the teacher's fault.You know,if a teacher isn't making the material understandable,you have to do something to keep your grades up.But it's not OK when the reason is just"I'm lazy,""I'm tired,""I don't like it,"or"I would rather sleep in class."

9.We keep reading that TV is bad for you.If this is true,how come the current generation of TV-addicted kids is much smarter than we are?In my home,the only people who can work the remote control are the children.
Perhaps TV does educate you.For example,you learn a useful medical fact:A person who has been shot always has time to speak an incomplete sentence before he dies."The killer was…"(dies)
But I guess the biggest things we learn from TV can be regarded as"Life Skills".Bad things only happen on dark and stormy nights.Emotional breakdowns cause people to wander in the heavy rain without umbrellas.And contrary to what scientists say,the crack(霹雳) of lightning and the accompanying flash happen at exactly the same time,wherever you are.
I've even acquired useful geographical facts from science-fiction shows:Aliens speak English no matter which planet they come from.
Making use of what we learn from TV can improve our security.Consider these truths.If you are ever attacked by 2 0bad guys,don't worry about being outnumbered.The criminals will hang back and take turns to approach you in ones and twos just so you can conveniently defeat them all.Bad guys who are completely covered in black clothes always remove their black masks to reveal that they are in fact,aha,women.
TV also teaches us important information about escaping from danger.Watch and learn.(1)If anyone is running after you down a passage,you will find that boxes have been conveniently placed near all the walls you need to jump over.(2)If you are tall and handsome,you can run from any number of armed criminals,and every shot will miss you.
Be warned,however.If your name card says"henchman"(帮凶) and you are part of a group of plain-looking people trying to catch a handsome individual,a single shot will kill you.But don't be anxious:TV also delivers useful information for bad guys.All cars are inflammable (易燃的) and have amazing shock absorbers that enable them to fly into the air and land without damage-except police cars.
TV even teaches us about TV.Whenever anyone turns on a TV,it shows a news flash about someone they know.They then turn the box off immediately after that news item.

7.你了解美丽的内陆山国瑞士吗?你知道瑞士人讲什么语言吗?
School children in eight German-speaking states of Switzerland are to learn English, rather than French,as their second language.
Education bosses said that pupils would now start learning English four years earlier than at present-in the third year instead of the seventh.
The teaching of French-Switzerland's second most widely spoken language after German would start in the fifth year.
The move follows a decision by the mainly German-speaking canton of Zurich two years ago to make English the first foreign language to be taught in schools in place of French.
Officials in Zurich said the measure was justified (证明)because English was increasingly becoming the most important language in both professional and personal circles.
But critics (评论家)of the decision are mainly native French and Italian speakers. They said learning the languages of other Swiss nationals had helped the country to live in harmony, avoiding the ethnic tensions (种族紧张关系),for example,in Spain.
Around 64% of the Swiss population is German-speaking,while French speakers make up nearly 19% of the population.
Italian is the mother-tongue of 5% of Swiss nationals and a small group speak Romansch,a descendant (后裔)of Latin.
The situation is complicated by the fact that 20% of those living in Switzerland are foreigners, speaking a variety of languages.
53.From the passage,we knowDis the first most widely used language in Switzerland.
A.English        B.French         C.Italian         D.German
54.Why do children in German-speaking states regard English as their second language?B

B.German,French,Italian and Romansch
C.English,Chinese,German and Japanese
D.German,French,Italian and Chinese

8.In the Caucasus region of Russia,nearly 50out of every 100,000people live to celebrate their 100th birthday,and many don't stop at 100!By comparison,in America only 3people in 100,000reach 100.But these Russian old people aren't alone.The Pakistanis,who live high in the Himalaya Mountains,and the Ecuadorans of the Andes Mountains seem to share the secret of long life,too.
These people remain healthy in body and spirit despite the passage of time.While many older persons in industrial societies become weak and ill in their 60s and 70s,some Caucasians aged 100to 140,work in the fields beside their great-great-grandchildren.Even the idea of aging is foreign to them.When asked"at what age does youth end?"most of these old people had no answer.Several replied,"Well,perhaps at age 80."
What accounts for this ability to survive to such old age,and to survive so well?First of all,hard physical work is a way of life for all of these long-lived people.They begin their long days of physical labor as children and never seem to stop.For example,Mr.Rustam Mamedov is 142years of age.His wife is 116years old.They have been married for 90years.Mr.Mamedov has no intention of retiring from his life as a farmer."Why?What else would I do?"he asks.All these people get healthful rewards from the environment in which they work.They all come from mountainous regions.They live and work at elevations of 1,660to 1,000meters above sea level.The air has less oxygen and is pollution-free.This reduced-oxygen environment makes the heart and blood vessel(血管) system stronger.
Another factor that may contribute to the good health of these people is their isolation.To a great extent,they are separated from the pressures and worries of industrial society.Inherited factors also play some role.Most of the longest-lived people had parents and grandparents who also reached very old ages.Good family genes may,therefore,be one factor in living longer.
56.The example of Mr.and Mrs.Mamedov implies that some Caucasians aged 100 to 140C.
A.become weak and hopeless             B.are too old to work in the fields
C.benefit from physical work             D.are still working in the fields
57.What is the main way of life for all of these long-lived people?C
A.Retiring from their lives as farmers.B.Having been married for 90years.
C.Hard physical work.D.Having no intentions.
58.Which of the following factors isn't helpful to people's health and long life?D
A.Clean mountain air.B.Daily hard work.
C. Good genes             D. Stress and pressure.
