Pilates, yoga and the running machine get all the attention when it comes to popular ways to stay healthy.

There is, however, a more humble exercise that might not be so attractive, but has all the benefits — walking.

Certified fitness professional Jolynn Jaekel explains, “What I love about walking is that anyone can do it at any age and any fitness level. Plus, it is good for your heart, your head and your wallet.”

A recent report details the health benefits of walking. The report found that walking regularly to fulfill the 150 minutes of moderate physical exercise every week, recommended by the UK's chief medical officer, could save 37,000 lives each year. Scientists at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California found that quick walking reduces the risk of heart disease more effectively than running. They observed participants aged between 18 and 80 over a six?year period and found that walking reduced the risk of heart disease by 9.3%, while running reduced it by 4.5%. And there is even more good news: 30 minutes of quick walking over five days could help you sleep easily, according to research by Oregon State University. The study by the university showed that walking helped participants sleep better and feel more alert during the day.

Fashion refers to the styles of dress that are currently popular. Fashion goes beyond just clothes, though. It’s important for some people to wear only the latest fashions and styles. A telescope (望远镜), called Gaia, is being designed by astronomers in Europe, and it couldn’t be more different from Pan-STARRS, which is another telescope being designed. By using two telescopes like eyes, Gaia can produce the first 3D map of the positions of the stars it views.

Gaia, which is to be sent into space in 2011, will be a powerful telescope. If you were to use it on Earth, for example, you could stand 600 miles away from your best friends and still get a clear picture of their hair.

Gaia is one of more than a dozen telescopes being designed by scientists right now. The next generation of telescopes will reveal new parts of our universe that will seem surprising. The universe, with all its planets, stars and other strange objects, is a puzzle with pieces that we can see by using powerful telescopes.

Nowadays more and more people who lives in cities like to keep dogs as pets. Some of my friend believe people can get comfort and develop their patient and love by keeping dogs as pets. Personally, I do not really have interest to dogs, and sometimes I do hate some dog owners. They can be so annoyed. They talk about their dogs as if they are actually their little babies. Some dogs make too much noise at night, that makes it hard for people living nearby fall asleep. Besides, not all dog owners think of others while they are walking their dogs.
