About five years ago, an American electrical engineer named Scott Brusaw and his wife Julie came up with the idea of putting solar panels (控制板) on the ground rather than the roof. Then they began to develop the Solar Roadway. The Solar Roadway is an intelligent road that provides clean renewable energy using power from the sun while providing safer driving conditions, along with power and data delivery. They predict that the Solar Roadway will pay for itself through the generation of electricity along with other forms of income and that the same money that is being used to build and resurface current roads can be used to build the Solar Roadways.
Each Solar Road Panel measures roughly 4 meters by 4 meters and contains a microprocessor (微处理器) that monitors and controls the panel, while communicating with neighboring panels and the vehicles traveling overhead. The inventors suggest that this provides a communications device every 4 meters on every road which could be used for example to warn drivers of cars which are moving across a centre line and various other speed control problems. The top of the Solar Road panels is made of super-strong glass that would offer vehicles the tractions (抓地力) they need.
According to the inventors, the Solar Roadway creates and carries clean renewable electricity and therefore electric vehicles can be recharged at any conveniently located rest stop, or at any business that has paved Solar Road Panels in their parking lots.
The inventors say their Solar Roadway has many functions and
【1】In the inventors’ opinion, the Solar Roadway ___________________________ .
A. is too expensive to build at present
B. costs no more money than current roads
C. can provide as many data as present computers
D. will bring them a large sum of money
【2】The underlined word “they” in Paragraph 2 refers to .
A. the panels B. the inventors
C. the researchers D. the vehicles
【3】It can be inferred from the text that ____________________________.
A. the Solar Roadway has already been put into use
B. $100,000 is only enough to build a smart-road parking lot
C. the Solar Roadway is not available for gas-powered cars
D. future electric vehicles can be charged anytime and anywhere
【4】What can be the best title for the text?
A. Solar-powered smart road of the future
B. The great changes on the roadway
C. The influence the Solar Roadway has on people
D. The Solar Road—a much faster road
【1】B
【2】D
【3】C
【4】A
根据原文“They predict that the Solar Roadway will pay for itself through the generation of electricity along with other forms of income and that the same money that is being used to build and resurface current roads can be used to build the Solar Roadways.”
句中的Them是一个代词,主要指代的是上文提过的内容,所以将这个词放在整句中分析,“ The top of the Solar Road panels is made of super-strong glass that would offer vehicles the tractions (抓地力) they need.”
根据原文中的“According to the inventors, the Solar Roadway creates and carries clean renewable electricity and therefore electric vehicles can be recharged at any conveniently located rest stop, or at any business that has paved Solar Road Panels in their parking lots.”
注意:1.每处错误及其修改均仅限一词;
It was very to get your invitation to spend ^ weekend with you. Luckily I was the am completely free then, so I’ll to say ”yes”. I’ll arrive in Bristol at around 8:00 p.m. in Friday on evening. |

How do actors and actresses memorize hundreds of lines? Memorizing lines takes practice and constant repetition. However, there are a few ways to make the memorization process run smoothly and quickly. 【1】For most performers, there is no quicker way of memorizing lines. To learn lines, an actor must recite the play loud over and over again. Most rehearsals(彩排) encourage this by running through the lines or having a "read through". By the time opening night arrives, most actors have spoken their lines hundreds of times.Listen to your cast members.Sometimes inexperienced actors spend rehearsals looking at fellow performers, waiting patiently to say their next line. 【2】 This will help the actor learn his lines better because the context of the dialogue is absorbed. 【3】Because there is often not enough rehearsal time, many performers find ways to listen to the play’s dialogue during everyday activities. They use a tape recorder or an MP3 player to listen to the lines from each relevant scene. Some actors prefer to record the lines of all the characters, including their own. 【4】 Others like recording the lines of fellow cast members, and they leave a blank space so that they can insert their dialogue while listening to the recording.Think positively and don’t panic. Most actors will experience stage fright before the opening night. Actors forget lines now and then. When it happens, however, most of the time the audience never notice. If you forget a line in the middle of your performance, don’t freeze. Stay in character. Keep the scene going to the best of your ability. If unfortunately you forget a line once, you will probably never forget that line ever again. 【5】
A. Record your lines. |
B. Practice makes perfect. |
C. Read lines loud and repeat them. |
D. Read lines loud and remember them in a short time. |
E. Sometimes embarrassment is the toughest method of memorization. |
F. Then, they not only listen carefully, but they also speak all of the lines. |
G. Instead, they should be listening carefully, responding in character at all times. |
