Entering the drama room I am immediately surrounded by the familiar sights, smells and sounds. Streaks(线条)of light cast by the blinds of the tall  36  send shafts(杆状物)of light through the dusty air. I take a  37  and the concrete and paint  38  tickle my nose. I  39  everything about this room.
Some of the  40  time of my life have been spent here. It’s ironic, but the  41  is the only place where I feel that I don’t have to  42  to be someone I’m not. Like many teenagers, I almost  43  think that people are judging me, but when I act, that feeling disappears. People only look at your  44  ability, not your clothing, money, choice of friends, or any of the other ways people are usually  45 .
When I’m on stage, everything else disappears. All the worries and  46  of the outside world are put on hold. Nervousness is still present,  47  it’s the excited kind, not the uneasy  48  of being different and alone.
I  49  love to work backstage and on lighting. I  50  you could find another girl who would work on a dusty ladder  51  to ropes and love every second of it. It makes me unique and gives me a sense of  52  to know that I succeed in an area where  53  people — and actually no girls — do.
Like others, I’m often insecure, not  54  who I am or where I’m going in life. Wherever that may be, I will always have the  55  I get from theater.

Yi So-yeon, an engineer from Seoul, returned to Earth on Saturday after 11 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS), along with Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and US astronaut Peggy Whitson.

A technical problem turned a routine (常规) return to Earth into a sharper than usual descent (下降) that tested the group members' stamina and courage. They landed in the Kazakh steppes ( 大草原)  about 420km  (260 miles) wide of their target.

“During the descent there was some kind of fire outside the Soyuz capsule because we were going through the atmosphere,” Yi said.

“At first I was afraid, but the two other guys looked okay, so I tried to look okay too.”

Yi smiled and joked her way through a 10-minute news briefing at Star City, the wooded Soviet era cosmonaut training centre on the edge of Moscow. However, Malenchenko and Whitson looked tired and thin after nearly six months in space. Their answers were short and Whitson needed support to balance when she walked. The 29-year-old Yi has become famous in South Korea since the take-off but she brushed this aside and said she has had little contact with friends or family since returning.

“In fact, they are the heroes right now,” Yi said, referring to Malenchenko and Whitson. “I'm just a beginner and a little ashamed to say that I am a hero.”  She did, though, relate a more light-hearted incident on the ISS.

“I sang Fly Me to the Moon” Yi said about the 1950s pop song. “It's my favorite song from university although at that time I didn't know I would be an astronaut.”

The capsule's so-called “ballistic” re-entering made the group members face twice the usual pull from the centre of the earth.  The flames Yi described may have been caused by friction (摩擦) heating the capsule as it fell through the atmosphere.

Whitson told reporters that Saturday's ballistic landing, was irregular but not an emergency.

“The Soyuz has been through its history very reliable and there has obviously been some issue in the last couple of descents which went ballistic, but I'm sure the engineers will determine what the problems are and get them fixed,” she said.

In October, a Soyuz capsule carrying Malaysia's first space tourist touched down about 200 km (125 miles) off_course in a similar ballistic landing caused by a technical problem.

The Soyuz is the world's longest-serving manned space capsule.  An early version of the craft, the Vostok, carried the first person into space in 1961.

Whitson, 48, has become the American with the longest amount of time in space with 377 days.

Every year, as Spring Festival draws near, most Chinese people will get excited to make preparation for the most important festival and make plan for the winter break. It is a little like Christmas in the United States, but there are some differences between the two festivals.
Both the major Chinese and the major Western holidays come during the cold season, and special food is expected. In western countries, cookies and cakes begin just after Thanksgiving in November and show up everywhere. Turkey, potatoes and other food come later. Similar thing happens in China. Entering lunar December, most families will make shopping plans for the coming big day and food is certainly one of the most important things to be considered. At the end of the month, both parents in each family will be very busy---the father is busy buying food while the mother is busy cooking.
A deeper similarity (相似处) is tradition. Christmas, as the letters “Christ” suggests, began as a holiday to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ. Many people pray (祈祷) on this day. In China, people living in cities or towns, though they don’t plan to sow seeds(播种) this month, still celebrate on the big day for farmers.
Followers of both holidays are also different from each other. While Chinese people travel to the homes of elder relatives, Americans usually call or send cards. Westerners prefer Christmas carols to fireworks. In Christmas, many family gifts come together instead of one by one, since adults may have only one day free to celebrate.
But the most curious difference is about students. Chinese students going home for Spring Festival sometimes report that they get bored by the end of vacation, yet American students seldom get bored around Christmas and western New Year.
Not everyone enjoys classic holiday traditions. Students in western countries may get upset, as too much homework, travel or bad family relations may destroy the short holiday season. In China, more and more college students choose to travel or work during the winter holiday instead of going home to stay with their families. It’s against the tradition but many people accept it.
