阅读理解：Imagine doing on a 20-year journey into outer space (外层空间)-without growing any older. Does it sound very strange ? Well, one day it may not be! One day, astronauts maybe able to do just that- if they sleep through the days along the way!
Right now, “ people hibernation (冬眠)” is just an idea. But it may not be for long. Why ? Because scientists have discovered something special in the blood of hibernating animals. And it is this thing that sets off the animals’ long winter sleep.
Some day scientists may learn how to use the thing in humans. If they do, them people who have to spend long hours of operation can enter a sort of quick “ hibernation”. This would be especially useful during heart operation, because the lower energy requirement and slower heartbeat would make the operation easier and safer.
Scientists named the thing HT, which can be made into a kind of medicine. It may travel with astronauts on their journeys to the stars in the future.
