7.If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life, new research may come as a shock.According to a recent scientific study, people who do very strenuous exercise are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all.Scientists in Denmark have been studying over 1,000joggers and non-joggers for 12years.The death rates from the sample group indicate that people who jog at a moderate (适度的) pace two or three times a week for less than two and a half hours in total are least likely to die.The best speed to jog at was found to be about 5miles per hour. The research suggests that people who jog more than three times a week or at higher speeds of over 7mph die at the same rate as non-joggers.The scientists think that this is because strenuous exercise causes structural changes to the heart and arteries (动脉).Over time, this can cause serious injuries.
Peter Schnohr,a researcher in Copenhagen, said"If your goal is to decrease risk of death and improve life expectancy, jogging a few times a week at a moderate pace is a good strategy (策略).Anything more is not just unnecessary, and it may be harmful."
The implications (暗示) of this are that moderate forms of exercise such as tai chi, yoga and brisk walking may be better for us than"iron man"events, triathlons and long-distance running and cycling.According to Jacob Louis Marott, another researcher involved in the study,"You don't actually have to do that much to have a good impact on your health. And perhaps you shouldn't actually do too much."
32.The underlined word"strenuous"in Paragraph 1is closest in meaning to"C".
A.practical B.regular C.hard D.flexible
33.The author presents some figures in Paragraph 2toA.
A.provide supportive evidence B.show risks of doing sports
C.suggest giving up jogging D.introduce the research process
34.According to the scientists, why is too much exercise harmful?D
A.It consumes too much energy.B.It can make the body tired out.
C.It will bring much pressure.D.It may injure the heart and arteries.
35.What can be inferred from the text?A

C.Marathons runners are least likely to die.D.No exercise at all is the best choice.
According to a recent scientific study, people who do a very strenuous workout are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all."可知,一点不做运动的人和非常艰苦锻炼的人都极有可能死,故应选C.
33.A;判断推理判断.第二段所举的例子主要是为了证明第一段最后一句"According to a recent scientific study, people who do a very strenuous workout are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all",故在第二段举一些数字主要是提供有力的证据,故应选A.
34.D;细节理解题.由第二段倒数第二句"The scientists think that this is because strenuous exercise causes structural changes to the heart and arteries(动脉)."可知,做过多的运动有害是因为它可能伤害心脏和动脉,故应选D.
35.A;判断推理题;.根据第三段可知,做运动过多或过少都对身体有害,只有做适量的运动才对身体有益,故应选A.

There is growing dissatisfaction toward rich people, according to a new online poll.
The poll by China Daily in collaboration with Sina.com has highlighted the apparent discontent over the country's widening income gap.
Nearly 8,000people filled in online questionnaires last week, and when asked to use three words to describe society's rich, the top responses were"extravagant","greedy"and"corrupt".
About 57percent of those polled said that"extravagant"was the best word to describe the rich, followed closely by"greedy".
Ironically,in spite of their dissatisfaction,93percent of those polled wished they could be rich too,and that richer people should be"socially responsible".
Around 33percent of respondents also praised rich people for being"smart".
Nearly 90percent of respondents agreed that most people in society, including themselves, were willing to speak up for the poor but were unwilling to take action and actually do something for them.
The survey comes on the heels of a heated debate over comments made by renowned economist Mao Yushi, who said he was"speaking for the rich and working for the poor".
A report released by the Asian Development Bank last Wednesday revealed that China's Gini coefficient(基尼系数)-an indicator of the wealth divide-rose from 0.407in 1993to 0.473in 2004.
An earlier CASS report said that the richest 10percent of Chinese families now own more than 40percent of all private assets, while the poorest 10percent share less than 2percent of the total wealth.
The country's income disparity(悬殊) is close to that of Latin America, the report which came out in January, said.

How can effective house rules be established?
First of all,get your teenager to take part in making the rules, which can help keep them motivated to follow them.Ask their opinion about what sorts of things they think are important when creating the rules and try to include some of their ideas.
When creating the list of rules, don't list every single rule imaginable.Instead, try to limit it to the ten most important rules.I've seen some parents come up with several pages of rules which turn out to be more like a rule book rather than a list.Remember,it is important to make the list easy to remember and to be a basic guide.
Then,it is important that you write out the list of rules and hang them in a prominent (显眼的) location.Keeping the rules on the refrigerator or displayed somewhere where everyone can see them is a good reminder.Revise the rules whenever there's a need, not very frequently though.
Explain clearly in advance what negative result will be in store when a rule gets broken. But ensure that none of your results are equal to abusive parenting. For example, take off the rule that says-"if you don't get home by 11at night, make arrangements to stay elsewhere until morning".Let helping with small household chores like cleaning up their own rooms serve as a result of breaking rules.
Follow these tips on establishing effective house rules accompanied by constant positive reinforcement (执行),and you will see the improvement in your teenager's behavior.Hope you can direct your teenager to become a responsible and independent person with the help of house rules!
