题目内容

阅读下面的短文,然后按要求写一篇150字左右的英语短文。

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper (脾气). His father gave him a bag of nails (钉子) and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually became smaller. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, “You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave wounds just like these. And no matter how many times you say you’re sorry, the wounds will still be there.”

写作内容:

1. 以Anger management为题约30个词概括上文的主要内容。

2. 谈谈你的想法(120词),内容包括:

(1)分析愤怒情绪可能产生的后果(至少两点);

(2)就如何控制愤怒情绪提出建议(至少两点)。

2. 作文中不得出现真实的姓名和学校名称。

评分标准:概括准确,语言规范,内容合适,语篇连贯。

Anger management

Anger management

A bad-tempered boy finally learned to properly manage his anger following his father’s advice-hammering nails into the fence. And he was also made to understand that expressing anger strongly can do great harm to others. (36)

If anger is expressed in harmful ways, it can lead to problems, sometimes for you and often for others around you. People with poor anger management are more likely to have problems with personal relationships. What’s worse, they can experience anxiety, depression, even problems with alcohol. In a word, it can affect the overall quality of their life.

To keep your anger in check, you need to recognize what makes you angry and recognize the warning signs of anger in your body, so that when you are about to lose it, you can get out of the situation, taking a walk or using other distractions from the situation. But if you feel your anger is out of control, don’t hesitate to seek professional help from a psychologist or a support group. (131)
