　　One day a funny thing happened to Henry．He was on a bus．When the bus was going on he wanted to get off．So he stood up and rang the bell．To make the driver hear clearly, he rang it twice, but the bus didn’t stop．The conductor came up and shouted at him．He was so angry and spoke fast, and Henry didn’t understand a word．The bus stopped at the next station and Henry got off．

　　When Henry got home, he told his wife about his story on the bus．“How many times did you ring the bell?” asked his wife．

　　“Twice,” replied Henry．

　　“Well, two rings mean going on,” explained his wife．“Only the conductor is allowed to ring the bell twice．”

　　“I didn’t know about that! The conductor should have told me about the rule when I got on the bus,” said Henry．
