My Best Enemy
Once again, I was in a new school. So was a girl in my class named Lisa. That’s where the similarities ended.
I was tall and she was small. My thick black hair had been recently cut short into an untidy style. Her natural blonde hair flowed to her waist and looked great. I was 12 and one of the oldest in the class while she was 11 and the youngest. I was awkward and shy. She wasn’t. I couldn’t stand her, considering her my enemy. But she liked me and wanted to be friends.
One day, she invited me over and I said yes—I was too shocked to answer any other way. My family had moved six times in six years, and I had never managed to develop any friendships. But this girl who wore the latest fashions wanted me to go home with her after school.
She lived in a fun part of town that had two pizza places, an all-night bookstore, a movie theater and a park. As we walked from the school bus stop through her neighborhood, I tried to guess which house might be hers. Was it the white one with the perfect lawn or the three-story house with a front porch? I got very surprised when she led me into an old apartment building. She lived on the fourth floor in a two-room place with her mother, her stepfather, her two brothers and her sister.
When we got into the room she shared with her sister, she took out a big case of Babies, which was my next surprise. I had never played with them. We sat on the floor, laughing as we made up crazy stories about the Babies. We found out that we both wanted to be writers when we were older and both had wild imaginations. We had a great day that afternoon.
Lisa was loved by the whole neighborhood. The bookstore owners lent her fashion magazines; the movie theater gave her free tickets… Soon I was included in her magic world. We slept over at each other’s houses and spent every free moment together.
Lisa, my first real friend since childhood, helped me get through the rough year of early adolescence(青春期) and taught me an amazing and very surprising thing about making friends: that your worst enemy can turn out to be your best friend.

Last week I went on an eco-travel with a travel agency.
All the way we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and f         air.
But a few of us picked flowers           going sightseeing.
Some even tried to catch some birds. What was          ,
many tourists t         rubbish here and there.
I don’t think this is an eco-travel. A true eco-travel is a tour

Many accidents happened in our daily life, including the traffic, drowning, stampeding and so on, which caused many disasters. As a result,  16   ( person) safety lessons are very necessary.
Actually, more and more accidents took place around us,    17   (make) our personal safety under threat. Therefore, personal safety should be the priority to the students.
Having read the report    18  accidents that happened in China, I instantly think of the accident    19  occurred to me ten years ago. Like other naughty boys, I like doing sports, especially swimming.  It was a hot summer noon. I went out to swim with    20   neighbor without parents’ permission. Happy as we were, we even tried having a    21   (compete) to see who could swim     22  (fast) and farthest. In order to show my ability of swimming, I spared no effort to swim. I did not realize that I had no other strength left    23  I reach the middle of the river. I and my body was sinking into   24  bottom of the river.    25  , (fortune) with the help of my friends, I had a narrow escape. What an unforgettable experience! It was my showing off that caused the unnecessary accident.
This case is only one among several hundred terrible accidents that take place around us every day. It is high time that we realized the importance of personal safety. And only with a good sense of personal safety can we live a safe and happy life!

Any day we wishwe can discipline ourselves to change it a11Any day we wishwe can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledgeAny day we wishwe can start a new activityAny day we wishwe can start the process of life changeWe can do it immediatelyor next weekor next monthor next year

We can also do nothingWe can pretend rather than performAnd if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortablewe can remain as we areWe can choose rest over laborentertainment over educationdelusion(幻想)over truthand doubt over confidenceThe choices are ours to makeBut while we complain about the effectwe continue to nourish(助长)the cause

As Shakespeare uniquely observed“The fault is not in the starsbut in ourselves’’We created our circumstances by our past choicesWe have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today

Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. They need the truth .They need the whole truth .And the responsibility to nothing but the truth

We cannot allow our errors in judgmentrepeated every dayto lead us down the wrong path

We must keep coming back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how our life works outAnd then we must make the very choices that will bring lifehappiness and joy into our daily lives .

And if I may be so bold to offer my last piece of advice for someone seeking and needing to make changes in their life—If you don’t like how things arechange it !You’re not a treeYou have the ability to totally transform every area in your life — and it all begins with your very own power of choice

We all, at one time or another, have pretended to be a rock star, singing and dancing along to our favorite song. Most of us have done this in the privacy of our own room when we were kids and as adults, in the privacy of our homes. Me? I love to do that when I drive! I turn on the radio, find a song that I can sing along too and pretty soon my arms are in the air and I am moving along to the rhythm. Most of the time, I do this on my way to work.

Yes, that is true, I will be in my nice work clothes, jamming while driving or stopped at a traffic light I get weird(古怪的)looks from some people and others laugh. Personally, I love to get lost in the rhythm of a song which leads me to share with you the importance of being silly!

The definition for the word silly, according to the dictionary is: stupid, foolish and nonsensical. I know many people do not want to look foolish. So they walk around all serious, which in all honesty, is foolish!

No one is perfect, I repeat: no one is perfect. I don't care how educated, how thin, how beautiful, how simple, how frugal (节俭的), how rich, and so on...No one is perfect! So why pretend to be something you are not?

Life is so short. You never know when this beautiful journey will be over, so why waste a single second on being so full of rigidity(呆板)? Here is a quote by Souza, that I think says it all and is a great recipe for life:

"Dance as though no one is watching you,

Love as though you have never been hurt before,

Sing as though no one can hear you,

Live as though heaven is on earth."

When we were kids, we had no idea of what limitations were and we had no care in the world so we could do things without worrying about how we appeared to others. However, as we grew up, we lost that childlike innocence.

So don't lose the child that still lives within you. The next time you feel down, go turn on your favorite song, and sing and dance along like there is no tomorrow or watch something that makes you laugh. Laughter is the best medicine to whatever ails (使……痛苦) you and nothing is better than laughing so hard that your stomach hurts. Trust me, you will feel a whole lot better, and who doesn't want to feel good?
