3-D cinema has been around since the early 20th century, but Hollywood brought the technology back in 2007. Many thought it was just a trick to make more money. But then came Avatar, the first mustsee movie in3-D.

But since Avatar,3-D cinema has struggled. In2010,several 3-D movies bombed at the box office. And by late 2010,some people said the technology was dead. Of course, this isn't the first time Hollywood has struggled with new tech?nology. Although sound was added to movies in the late 1920s,it took audience time to get used to the new technology. But in the end, sound and colour became the standard. James Cameron, director of Avatar, thinks we're going through the same process with 3-   D.

Some day cinemas are charging too much for 3-D movies. In the US,seeing a 3-D movie can cost up to $ 7. 5 more than seeing it in 2          D. Also,a recent study at the California State University has found audience don't actually enjoy movies in 3-D any more than in 2-   D. Walter Murch,a famous movie editor, wrote in 2011 that human beings have no ability to process 3-D images. Watching a 3-D movie confu?ses our brain and this is why some people get headaches.

But James Cameron disagrees. In fact,he recently predicted that in five years all movies will be in 3-   D. And there are signs that 3-D is fighting back. More 3-D movies were put on the market in 2012 than ever before. The Lion King3-D recently made over $ 150 million at the box office, and Cameron's Titanic3-D made even more.

Who knows what the future holds for 3-D? Steven Spielberg recently said, "I'm hoping 3-D gets to a point where people don't notice it because then it just be?comes another tool and helps tell a story."

You have the ability to decide if you are happy or not. Happiness is a choice.

You can't depend on someone else to make you happy. That is a les?son I learned early in my marriage. I realized that I couldn't rely on my husband as my source of happiness. I learned that my happiness depended on me and not my husband's actions. I learned that you have to choose to be happy.

You can choose your emotions. True happiness comes from within; it can't be forced by outside forces. So how do you choose happiness? The same way you choose to smile or choose to wear a certain outfit. You choose it because that's what you want to experience in your life.

You want to buy a new pair of shoes so you choose a pair that you like and feel good. You wouldn't buy a pair of shoes that you don't like or that don't fit well, right? So why do we keep choosing emotions and feelings that don't make us feel good?

Choosing to be happy after you realize your anger has shown up (or even choo?sing to be calm) can be beneficial. We choose our feelings; no one can do that for us. If we let others get to us,influence our emotions―we are giving them power over us. When others cause us anger or pain,we are giving them our power.

We need to keep our feelings in check and not react automatically to what is thrown at us. We need to think our actions out instead of just reacting to what some?one says or does.

Remember that we can always choose happiness. At first it will be difficult to just switch your thoughts and feelings from anger, selfdoubt,or fear to joy and happiness. But it is only a thought away. Don't dwell on what happens to you un?necessarily but realize what is causing you to feel that way. Realize that, thoughts, feelings and emotions can change. Then move on and choose to be happy.
