Dear Robert,

   I am writing to tell you about the thematic class-meeting we had in our classroom on the afternoon of last Friday. Here are the details:

   As you know, many of the students are the only child of their family. They are always self-centered and seldom care about others. In order to help them to thank their parents and show concern about others, we were required to hold a class-meeting whose theme is “Show Gratitude to Our Parents”.

  Firstly, our head teacher made a brief speech, making our task clear. Secondly, several students listed some improper behaviour that shows many children don’t respect their parents. Lastly, our monitor made suggestions that we should send small gifts to our parents on their birthdays, and we should say hello when we get home and goodbye before going out.

  I think we have benefited a lot from this thematic class-meeting.
