I was both excited and a little scared in my first day of kindergarten. The large classroom was full of books and , two kinds of things that I loved. But it was also full of kids all than me. Because my was in late September, I was in at only 4 years old, and this meant I was destined(注定的) to be smallest kid in my until the 7th grade.

I think my mom sensed I was a little . That was why she was always there to pick me up right after school when I could have ridden the bus. I would sit in the front seat her and tell her all about my . Sometimes we would even read a book and until all the cars and the buses had left before we home. I felt so safe and peaceful when we sat in the car together. I those special times when I had my mom all to myself. Beginning the new challenge of school didn’t seem so when I knew I could talk about it with her. Being a tiny, little kid in a big scary wasn’t so bad either. I knew my mom loved me and that was all I to be loving, joyful, and strong.

I look back on those happy times, I can see now that they also me for what I would find later in life. Even after she too soon, I could still feel her love flowing down from Heaven.

The next time this world seems too scary or hard, then don’t . Instead, invite love to the of your soul, close the doors, and spend some time alone together.

Some people are lucky enough to be born with a good sense of direction and even if they have only visited a place once, they will be able to find it again years later. I am one of those unfortunate people who have        sense of direction and I may have visited a place time after time but I still get        on my way there. When I was young I was so       that I never dared ask strangers the way and so I used to      round in circles and hope that I would happen to get to the place I was heading for. I am              too shy to ask people for directions, but I often       replies that puzzle me. Often people do not like to admit that they didn’t know their hometown and will      on telling you the way, even if they do not know it ; others who are      to prove that they know their hometown very well, will give you a long        of directions which you cannot possibly hope to remember, and still others do not seem to be able to       between their left and their right and you find in the end that you are going in the        direction. If anyone ever asks me the way to somewhere, I always tell them I am a      to the town in order to avoid giving them wrong       but even this can have embarrassing (尴尬的) results. Once I was on my way to work when I was stopped by a man who asked me if I would     him the way to the Sunlight Building. I gave my        reply, but I had not walked on a few steps when I      that he had asked for directions to my office building. However, at this point, I decided it was too late to turn back and       him in the crowd behind me       I was going to meet with someone at the office and I did not want to keep him waiting. Imagine my embarrassment when my secretary showed in the      man who had asked for directions to my office and his      when he recognized me as the person he had asked.

Helping Students Find Their Writing Voices
One of the most frustrating things for writing teachers is reading papers that simply lack style. When all of the research has been completed and all of the sentences are structured well, but the paper still lacks some pizzazz(活力),it can be boring to grade. If you are searching for ways to help your students find their voices, why not try making students themselves the topic of the writing?    【小题1】
Who are you?
One of the most difficult questions for students to answer is: “Who are you?” _  【小题2】__ In doing this, through writing, students will start to see their personalities differently and, hopefully, be able to add a feature to their writing.
Dear John
【小题3】     Encourage them to write to a famous person they’ve always admired, and then the one they absolutely hate. Explore how their language changes between the two letters. When students know their audiences, it is much easier for them to add the kind of personality their audience wants to see.
【小题4】     When students write about what matters most to them, they will often give you the best writing you’ve ever seen. You’ll get those when you ask questions that hit home. When students have something to say about a given topic, it can be easier for them to get their ideas down and then work on their writing style.
Get the words on paper, and then edit them
The most valuable lesson students can learn is to write first, and edit later. Have students write for five minutes about their topics. If they can get their ideas down on paper, that’s 90% of the battle.  【小题5】  This can help them realize that, once they have the ideas down, the rest is just fine tuning(微调). Once they have this skill mastered, it’s easy for them to start adding their own personal voices to their papers.

A.What matters to you?
B.What style is taught in class?
C.When they write about themselves, students’ voices often shine through.
D.Writing letters is a great way for students to explore their writing style.
E. Have your students explore who they are and what makes them unique.
F. Voice is that magical quality which is able to make a creative writing idea sing!
G. After that, have them edit these ideas into a really strong introductory paragraph.
