他一眼就看见，姑妈卧室窗外的空调室外机没有了。

姑妈一直没有安装空调，今年初夏，他不顾姑妈的反对，硬是出资给姑妈的起居室和卧室都装上了分体式空调。但是安装一周后他去看望，姑妈承认除了安装好试用了一阵外，就没再启动过。姑妈宣称：“有电扇就挺凉快啦！”但说这句话时，却连电扇也没开，只倚在沙发上摇个大蒲扇。

他见姑妈之前直接去了小区物业办公室，见到经理便兴师问罪：“保安是干什么吃的？窃贼偷了室外机居然发现不了！”经理满面笑容问他：“您是不是还没去看您姑妈啊？”他听了解释，去看望姑妈，姑妈摇着蒲扇笑：“有你这么孟浪的吗？那些个小保安比窦娥还冤！”原来，小区里的幼儿日托站，头天屋里的空调忽然坏了，打电话给厂家报修，说是实在人手不够，最快也要两天后才能派师傅来。正是入伏的时候，热得比往年邪乎，急得负责的大嫂没处抓挠，恰好他姑妈路过，就问，他们那空调什么牌子？什么型号？听完一看，室外机一模一样，就说侄子给装的那空调根本不用，闲着也是闲着，干脆赶紧让物业的电工给拆过来装上，不能让孩子们热坏了！物业的电工证实是那室外机的电机坏了，就把他姑妈卧室外的室外机收氟后给拆过来换上了。说好厂家师傅来了就给他姑妈恢复空调。他姑妈摇着大蒲扇呵呵地道：“在我，那终究是个摆设。当年哪有空调？电扇都稀罕，什么暑天没经历过？我用不惯那玩意儿！”

这位姑妈于他非同小可。他妈妈生他的时候难产，生下他没多久就过世了。那时候恰好姑妈也生了个男婴，算日子比他大八天。姑妈就用自己的乳汁喂养两个孩子。他满月前，就跟双胞胎似的，跟表哥一起由姑妈喂养。满月后，爸爸才把他接回家，喂他牛奶，后来喂他稀饭，但是，隔几天，或者爸爸把他送到姑妈家，或者姑妈自己骑自行车来，喂他人奶，这样直到他满了周岁，才断了姑妈的奶。
