参观过“731”罪证陈列馆的人都会留下终身的记忆。

陈列馆馆长王鹏说，“731”的罪行不仅仅是杀人，它进行30多项实验的目的是用于战争。用于实验的不光有中国人、朝鲜人，还有蒙古人、苏联人，一些从东南亚战场上抓来的美国、欧洲战俘也成了实验品，实验者要研究不同人种的耐受程度，以便将来在战场上有针对性地使用细菌武器。按照“731”部队生产细菌武器的能力，如果开足马力生产一年，足以毁灭人类。只是后来战况突变，大规模的细菌战没有来得及实施。所以“731”罪行是反人类的，它不光是国人的爱国主义教育基地，更值得全人类去关注和反思。

王馆长介绍说，这些年很多国外的媒体来拍摄专题片，而这些人以前对“731”的罪行知之甚少。一次王鹏告诉英国BCC电视台记者，“731”犯下的罪行比纳粹在奥斯维辛集中营的所作所为还要严重，纳粹虽然也曾对活人做解剖实验，但数量和规模都远不及“731”。被“731”用做实验的人在实验者看来不是人，而是“没有生命”的木头(日语称作“马路大”)，这些“材料”要接受各种残害性的实验。例如冷冻实验，要把人冻成能敲得响的“木棒”，然后再用不同温度的水去解冻，有的被解冻后肌肉脱落，露出白花花的骨头。再如脱水实验，是要把活人烤干，变成一具“木乃伊”，以此实验人体里含水的准确分量。BCC电视台记者听了也不禁为此暴行咋舌。

陈列馆的解说员介绍说，一位日本老人参观“731”罪证陈列馆时，对“731”部队犯下的滔天罪行气愤至极，他看到展台上“731”部队的恶魔石井四郎像后，一脚踢碎了玻璃，但能参观和了解“731”罪行的外国人太少了。据陈列馆统计，在建馆20多年时间里，馆展和流动展出接待的人数有300余万人，其中外国人不到十分之一。王鹏馆长说，陈列馆申报世界遗产，就是要扩大知名度，让更多的人来关注这段历史，更好地维护世界和平。

Teachers of Anna University participate in a workshop on helping students deal with stress. How do you handle an adolescent who refuses to speak, even about his project, or a student who is very attentive in class but fails to perform in examinations?

Two months the before a new group of students enter engineering colleges, lecturers and professors of Anna University are being advised on how to handle students and help them handle stress better.

In a series of workshops organized by the Centre for Empowerment of Women, Anna University, the lecturers are trained in specific ways to help students understand personal and academic stress.

"Students come here from varied backgrounds and the biggest challenge is to get them to open up and speak boldly," said HemaAchyuthan, director of Centre for Empowerment of Women.

The workshop on Friday was handled by Counsellor PrabhaArun who said that students tend to approach only those teachers who make them feel relaxed. Lecturers assume that college students are more responsible but the transition from school often takes time.

"Observing students' behaviour helps a lot, "said teachers. Y. Vidhya Lakshmi, a physics lecturer, said, "We might observe a student behaving differently but only when we talk to hostel wardens do we get a better picture of his recent activities. Also, the fact that teachers keep changing every semester does not allow students to establish longer relationships with them."

Teachers say that the 45 minutes allocated every week for counselling students is hardly adequate to understand their problems. Also, teachers are expected to shoulder more responsibilities, such as handling additional programs and submitting research papers. This leaves them with very little time to communicate with students.

【题目】 How to say hello in Japanese depends on when you say it. This is very much like different greetings used in English at different times of the day or night. In Japanese culture, it also depends on whether you are on the phone or meeting somebody or whether you are close to the person you are greeting. We don’t get formal with our close friends. We seldom greet them with “Good morning” or “Good evening”. A “Hi” is enough.

Although the most popular and most well-known translation for “Hello” is still “Konniqiwa”, it is not exactly how to say hello in Japanese. Perhaps it is not the most suitable word for it. Actually, the correct greeting in English for “Konniqiwa” is “Good day” or “Good noon”, and I am sure you wouldn’t like to greet people with a “Good day” at any time, and neither do Japanese like saying “Konniqiwa” when they want to say “Hello”.

So what to do? Let’s do it in the way the Japanese do. Use “Ohaiyo Gozaimasu” for “Good morning”, “Konniqiwa” when it’s noon and “Konbanwa”to greet somebody in the afternoon. Things differ when you are on the phone. Just say “Moshi, Moshi”, which is actually similar to saying “Hello” over the phone, because one hardly ever uses “Good morning” or “Good afternoon” or “Good evening” right after picking up the phone. It is invariably the sweet old “Hello”.
