                                                         Moving out, moving back
In the countries all over the world, people are leaving the countryside in large numbers to find jobs in the
cities. They leave because the countryside is much poorer than the city and often there isn't much work there.
Services such as hospital and transport (交通) are usually much better in cities than they are in the country.
They hope that their lives will improve when they move to the city.
But in the big cities of Europe and America-London, Pairs, New York, people are moving out of the city.
These are usually families who have some money, and want to live a quieter life. They are tired of the noise and
the dirt of the city, and the crowded streets, trains. and buses. They don't want to sit in traffic any more. They
want a house with a garden, and clean air that isn't polluted.
     So they move out. Some don't go very far, just a little away from the city, to the towns near the cities;
other people move to the real countryside with sheep and cows and green fields! There, they start a new life
and try to make new friends.
Not all those who move from the city to the countryside are happy. After two or three years, many people
who have done this feel that it was a big mistake. They don't make so much money and there isn't much to do.
Country people are very different and aren't always very friendly.
As a result, quite a lot of people who have moved to the countryside move back to the city. "It's wonderful
to see crowds in the streets and cinema lights," they say, "I'm so glad I'm back in the city!"

Computers are useful machines. They can help people a lot in their everyday life. For example, they
can help people save much time, and they can help people work out many problems they can't do easily.
Our country asks everyone to learn to use computers except the old people.
Today more and more families own computers. Parents buy computers for their children. They hope
computers can help them improve (提高) their studies in school. Yet many of the children use computers
to play games, to watch video or to sing Karaoke, instead of studying. So many teachers and parents
complain (抱怨) that computers can not help children to study but make them fall behind. So computers
are locked by parents in the boxes.
In some other countries, even some scientists hate computers. They say computers let millions of
people lost their jobs or bring them a lot of trouble.

"I don't like my parents. They always tell me I should do this, and should not do that. It sometimes makes me
angry," said Zhang Hua, a middle school student in Guangzhou. Do you have the same problem? Perhaps your
parents had the same problem when they were your age long ago. Why does it seem that some parents are not
so friendly in their children's eyes?
One of the biggest things is when someone becomes a parent, he/she likes worrying things. They worry about
everything about you, from the time you were born. They do a lot for you, though something would make you
angry, because they care about you and worry about you. They worry about your choice of friends, the food
you eat, your work at school, how much sleep you get, etc. All these things are part of your life. They want you
to grow up healthily and happily.
So how can you make things easier on yourself? It's easier than you think. Just make sure your parents know
what you're doing. Get them to know your friends. Phone if you stay somewhere else so that your parents don't
call every hospital in the phone book looking for your body. Say sorry to them when you make mistakes. Take
responsibility (责任) for what you have done. Talk about your ideas with them. They may talk about theirs with
you.
Most of all, try to think about why your parents do this or do that. They are still practising being parents and
need help you can give them. Someday, when you become a parent, they may be able to help you how to get on
with your children.
1. The writer thinks we should             if we go back home later than usual.

B. some parents are unfriendly, which makes their children angry

America is a mobile society. Friendships between Americans can be close and real, yet disappear soon.
They don't feel hurt. If the same two people meet again, even years later, they pick up the friendship. This
can be quite difficult for us Chinese to understand. Friendships between us develop more slowly but may
become lifelong feelings, extending (延伸) deeply into both families.
There is another difficult point for us to understand.Although Americans treat friends warmly in their
personal everyday lives, they don't show their politeness to them if it requires a great deal of time. But in
China, we are usually generous with our time. We, as hosts, will appear at an airport even in the middle
of the night to meet a friend. We may take day off from our work to act as guides to our friends: It is
opposite in America, Americans can not manage the time to do a great deal with a visitor outside their
daily plans. They will probably expect the visitors to get themselves from the airport to the hotels. And
they expect the visitors will phone them from there. Once the visitors arrive at their homes, the welcome
will be full, warm and real.
For Americans, it is often considered more friendly to invite a friend to their homes than to restaurants,
except for business matters. Americans are ready to receive us foreigners at their homes, share their
holidays, and their home life. So accept their hospitality (好客) at home and enjoy your visit in America!

TV has done a great deal in the daily life of people everywhere. Many programs are now televised in
color.
Perhaps the most modem invention is"Telstar",a"star"moving round the earth. It makes it possible
